Approval of Minutes: • May 20 Meeting Minutes Stegman 1st Motion May 2nd Motion Approved 5-0 • June 17 Meeting Minutes Larrabee 1st Motion Kohn 2nd Motion Approved 5-0 D. DISCUSSION 1. Neighborhood Liaisons Updates • Commissioner Larrabee provided the map of where all the current 16 liaisons were located. The map identified the area where it does not have liaisons. • Commissioners discussed about creating an informal event in September. It will replace the CEC September meeting  Who will host? CEC  What is the purpose of the event? Meet and greet (get to know each other), networking, open conversations, and appreciation. The event will be open to the public. • Hold a yearly event to bring in training, education and recruitment • Invite the Block party leaders • The event is to focus on development • City Staff will look at the city hall and school calendars so it does not interfere with other events. • City Staff will create a map that shows Liaisons and Block parties. The map will be on city website and announce it on E-news. 2. The Proposed Event List Follow Up • Will discussed this in the August meeting because Reider and King is absent. 3. Human Rights Day Topics • Commissioners discussed about Food Security. • City Staff advised commissioners to brainstorm more ideas and bring it to the next meeting. • Will bring last year’s list that Tim Sandvik created. • Potential places to hold the event: Bell Museum, Good Acre, Gibbs Farm, Falcon Heights Elementary School, Ramsey County Library in Roseville, Falcon Heights Town Square community room, and City Hall. E. INFORMATION/ANNOUNCEMENTS a. Cultivating a Caring Community – “Gray Area Thinking,” Monday, November 18 and the guest speaker is Ellie Krug. • Event will replace CEC meeting. • The only available dates to meet are Friday, November 1, and 15 • If Commissioners want to do it on Tuesday 12 or 19, then city staff can contact TKD instructor. The class can be relocate to Lauderdale city hall. • CEC need to meet before HRD event. F. ADJOURNMENT: 8:00 P.M Kohn 1st Motion Larrabee 2nd Motion Approved 5-0
