HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCMin_80Jun6_SpecialMINUTES SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 6, 1980 i~ [,i A`Special Meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order by Mayor Warkentien at 5:00 p.m. Mayor Warkentienm Councilmembers Steele, Brown, Eggert and Larson. Also PRESENT present was Clerk Administrator Barnes, None. ABSENT Mayor Warkentien reviewed with Council the proposed Fire Contract with LAUDERDALE the City of Lauderdale and after some discussion Councilmember Larson FIRE CONTRACZ moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown to authorize the Mayor and Clerk Administrator to enter into a contract with the City of Lauderdale for fire protection effective July 1, 1980. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, Brown, Eggert and Larson and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele to authorize LEAGUE the Clerk Administrator to draw. an advance of $148.00 for the balance CONVENTION of room rates for the Clerk Administrator and Councilmembers Brown ADVANCE FOR and Larson while attending the State League of Municipalities con- ROOMS vention. Motion carried unanimously. Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown to approve CONDITIONAL the variance and conditional use request of Jean Malzer, 1903 Tatum, to USE & VARIAN( erect a utility shed 2 feet from the side and rear lot lines. Motion MALZER, 1903 carried unanimously. TATUM Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert to approve LIDO CAFE the issuance of Liquor License ~8 and Special Sunday License #7 to Lido ON SALE Cafe, Inc. at 1611 W. Larpenteur. Motion carried unanimously. & SUNDAY LIQUOR LICEN: Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson to approve the issuance of Wine License ~6 to Northstar Pizza Corporation, dba/Shakey's SHAKEY'S Pizza Parlor at 1552 W. Larpenteur. Motion carried unanimously. PIZZA WINE LICENSE It was noted that Hewlett-Packard would be holding open house on June 19th and 20th and the Council was invited to attend. HEWLETT- PACKARD OPEN HOUSE Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that Northern States Power had informed him that the 3 ornamental lights on the west end of Folwell GROVE LIGHTIr would be maintained by them for light bulbs and cleaning only. The rate would go from $2.60 per month to $5.45 per month. Councilmember Larson reported on the progress of the Comprehensive Plan and moved the adoption of Resolution 80-15. RESOLUTION 80-15 RESOLUTION 80-15 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE EXTENSION OF TIl~ IN SUBMITTING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO METRO COUNCIL AND ADJOINING COMMUNITIES AND SCHOOL DISTRICT #623 Mayor Warkentien seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. MINUTES ~ ~ SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 6, 198b PAGE 2 Clerk Administrator Barnes reported to Council the unsightly condition at B & J MIDWAY B & J Midway Floral, 1871 W. Larpenteur. After some discussion Council FLORAL directed the Clerk Administrator to request Bert Gimmestad to appear before Council on June 25,;980 to show cause why the City Council should not re- scind Resolution 72-53 which permitted him to continue operating the Florist shop due to violation of the agreement.
