SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS
SEPTEMBER 28, 1977
A special meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council
was called to order by Mayor Warkentien at 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, McGough, Steele PRESENT
and Labalestra. Also present were Clerk Administrator
Barnes, and Fire Chief Jerry Renchin.
None. ABSENT
Mayor Warkentien informed councilmembers that the
purpose of themeeting was to review the proposed budget
submitted by the Clerk Administrator and to suggest any
changes they feel were warranted.
It was suggested that the City not join the League of LEAGUE
Minnesota Cities for the next year. No action was taken MEMBERSHIP
at this time and it is to be reviewed at the October 7th,
1977 special council meeting.
Fire Chief Jerry Renchin explained to council his budget
request submitted for the Fire Department. He is suggesting
$4.50 for drills, $5.00 for fire calls and $15.00 for day
sleepers and $20.00 for week-end and holiday sleepers. He
is also suggesting Chief salary at $125.00 per months, two
assistant chiefs at $70.00 per month, $25.00 per month for
Capt. and $15.00 per month for Lts. He further explained
he had 15 pagers in for a total of $3Q75.00 as the old
units are in need of repair and maintenance costs in the
past three years have been excessive. Council suggested
funds from the capital improvement fund be used instead.
Clerk Administrator Barnes was requested to raise the
diseased tree program fund $1,650.00 totaling $40,000.00.
Council adjourned at 10:35 p.m.
