MEIT ING OF MAY 13, 19 71
The regular meeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. with the following members
present: Mayor iwarkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund and Stone. Also present
were Clerk Printon, Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Seed. Asbent was Councilman
Taylor.
Minutes: Stone moved that the minutes of the April 22, 1971
meeting be approved. Black seconded and the motion
carried.
American Pipe Robert t~. Pfeffez•le, P. E., Technical Consultant for
Cleaning Service American Pipe Cleaning Services gave a detailed report
Representative of finaings of sewer conditions in the Falcon Heights

Correspondence: Various lettex•s of correspondence were read and ordered
filed.
Justice of the Ecklund moved that Charles Allen Parsons, Jr., 1250 Gibbs,
Peace Appointments: be appointed as Justice of the Peace, to fill the vacancy
of Judge William Carroll who has resigned due to illness.
The appointment would begin June 1, 1971. Stone seconded
and the motion carried.
Stone moved that Steven Arnold IV'elson, 1720 West Larpen-
teur Avenue, be appointed to fill the second Justice of
the Peace vacancy which will occur about August 1, 1971,
when Judge Joseph L. NTannikko will resign as Justice of
the Peace. Black seconded and the motion carried.
Arona Avenue The following residents whose property abuts ArAna Avenue

Variance Request - Black moved that the application for variance submitted
John C. Gohl - by John C. Gohl, in reference to a proposed residence at
Sheldon & Roselawn the S. E. corner of Roselawn and Sheldon be approved as

That the 58 foot dimensions run witr. the length of
lot, that is to the east and west, that the garage
open to Sheldon Avenue and that a five foot set-back
be allowed on the south side of the house with refer-
ence to the roof overhang and that written approval

Residents Charge Ecklund moved that the Village pay the invoice submitted
of Machine i~ntal: by Dsle A. Haack, 1801 Asbury Avenue, incured for rental
of electric powered sewer cleaning machine rented on
Sunday, May 2, 1971. Warkentien seconded and the motion
carried.
Tree Repair Warkentien moved that the Village enter into a contract
Contract: with the Northland Tree Service to repair the trees listed
by Dr. C. Gustav Hard, Village Horticulturist. Ecklund
seconded and the motion carried.
Carpet Purchase Warkentien moved that the Village Clerk be authorized to
for Village Office: purchase carpeting for the Village Office, not to exceed
$1000. Ecklund seconded and the motion carried.
Fire Report: Ecklund read Fire Report No. 11.
Sheriff's Report: Ecklund read the Sheriff's t~eport for April.
