MEETING OF AUGUST 12, 1971

The regular meeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. with the following members
present : Acting Niayor Charles Stone, Counci liner. 81.-.::__, Ecklund and Taylor. Also
present were Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Seed. Absent was iiayor T~arkentien.
Tiinutes: Black moved that the minutes of the July 22, 1971 meeting
be approved. Taylor seconded and the motion carried.
Ecklund moved that the minutes of the special meeting of
July 29, 197'1 be approved. Black seconded and the motion
carried.

Drainage Problem - Ecklund moved that the Village Engineer be instructedto
1775 Tatum Avenue: draw plans and establish grades for the drainage ditch on
the north side of the Vernon Udhittlef property located at
1775 Tatum Avenue, also, instructed the Village Attorney
to obtain a 10 foot easement. Black seconded and the
motion carried.
Oath of Office - Acting I~iayor Charles Stone adriinistered the oath of office
Steven A. Nelson - to Steven A. Nelson newly appointed Justice of the Peace
Justice of the Peace: of Falcon Heights. ~Ir. Nelson will fill the unexpired
term of Joseph L . r;anni=cko .
Sewer Pro'olem - tlr. and T•irs. ~:illiam I~;cGuigan, 1103 Z°~est Iowa Avenue, were
1I~03 west Iowa present at the meeting to discuss the repeated sewer prob-
Avenue: lem at their home. Engineer Lemberg was instructed to
have the sewer :line excavated.
Request to Attend Ecklund moved that the request for funds to send Henry
Fire and Rescue Dachtera, Volunteer Fireman, to PRIM School to attend two
Schools: wor_~shops and seminars at Alexandria, Minnesota, and
Brainerd, i~tinnesota, be denied for the reason that the
budget for schools and travel has been exceeded at this
time. Taylor seconded and the motion carried.
Payment of Dues: Bla_c'_~ moved that the Village pay the League of I~iinnesota
Municipalities membership dues in the amount of ~52J~.00
for the period September 1, 1971 through August 31, 1972.
Stone seconded and the motion carx•ied.
i~ietro Section Dues: Ecklund moved that the Village retain the membership of
the Pietro Section of the League of i~Zinnesota I~iunicipalities
dues in the amount of X262.00 for the period Sept~nber 1,
1971 through August 31, 1972• Ayes: Black, Ecklund, Taylor.
Nay: Stone. Motion carried.
Farmers Union GTA Ecklund moved that the Lease Agreement between the Farmers
and Fire Department Union Grain Terminal Association and the Falcon Heights
Lease Agreement - Fire Department be approved subject to the approval of the
FUGTA ParkinU Lot Village Attorney. Black seconded and the motion carried.
During Fair Time:

"No Par:King" Ecklund moved that the Village establish "No Parking" on
Sins During the north side of Hoyt Avenue from Snelling Drive to
Fair Time: Hamline Avenue, North side of Hollywood Court, and the
west side of Arona Avenue from Hoyt to California Avenue
during Fair Time beginnir~ Friday, August 27 and ending at
midnight September 6, 1971. Black seconded and the motion
carried.

Sheriff's Reports: Ecklund read the Sheriff's Reports for June and July.
Village Office Black moved that the Deputy Clerk be authorized to work 8

pose of catching up on a backlog of office work, and to
report the status of the wor'.K at the next Council meeting.
