MEET ING OF AUGU j'T 26, 19 71
The regular meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.r•Z. with the follotring members
present: P~Iayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ec_~clund and Stone. Also present were
Et~ineer Lemberg and Attorney Seed. Absent was Councilman Taylor.
Minutes: Stone moved that the minutes of the August 12, 1971 meeting
be approved. Ecklund seconded and the motion carried.
Cigarette License Ecklund moved that the follot~ring cigarette licenses be
Renewals: approved for the period commencing July 1, 1971 and ending
June 30, 1972:

Master Gas Ecklund moved that a master gas installers license be

Parking Lot Art Lindig, 1877 West Larpenteur Avenue was present at the

parking. He also questioned whether a building permit was
obtained by the apartment buildingoYmer at 1707 Lindig Street,
to construct a parking lot. Blac:•c moved that the Council
write the owner of the apartment buildingin regards to re-
cent construction on that property requsting him to appear
at the next Council meeting as the parking lot was apparently
constructed without proper authority. 1~darkentien seconded
and the motion carried.
Sewer Problem - Z•~alter Loeding, 1780 North Albert was present at the meeting
1700 North Albe?~t: to discuss a sewer problem at his residence. Engineer
Lemberg was authorized to check the sewer problem and recom-
mend procedure to follow.
Variance :bequest - Mrs. Diane Lalla, 1910 Asbury Avenue was present at the
1910 Asbury Avenue: meeting to submit her request for a variance to install a
privacy fence. Black moved that the application submitted
for variance to install a six foot fence on the Roselawn
side of Rosela~m and Asbury be referred to the Falcon
Heights Plani~.ng Commission for recorrcnendation. Stone
seconded and the motion carried.
• Chair Truck Stone moved that the Village Engineer be authorized to
Purchase: purchase a chair truck for the Village to handle all extra

Falcon Heights Inspector be authorized to look into the feasibility of a
School Grounds new or used building to replace warming house at the Falcon
and University Heights School rink and move the present unit from the
Grove Playgrounds: school grounds to the University Grove playground. Black
seconded and the motion carried.

ti~'orkshop Attendance Ecklund moved that the Council reconsider the request to
F~equest P~econsidered: allow Henr3* Dachtera, Falcon Heights Volunteer Firerlan and
Civil Defense Director, to attend the workshops and seminars
at Alexandria, 1~Iinnesota, September 11 and 12, and Brainerd,
1r?innesota, September 21~, 2~, a.nd 2b, 19T1, with expenses
for both not to exceed X100.00. Stone seconded and the
motion carried. The allowance to come fror.~t the Civil Defense
portion of the buc~ et .
