Also present were Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Seed. Absent were I~iayor 'v~arkentien and Councilman Stone. Minutes: Ecklund moved that the minutes of the September 9, 1971 meeting be approved as corrected. Black seconded and the motion carried. TOPICS Er~;ineer Lemberg was directed to attend a meeting of the Program Iieeting: TOPICS Program being; held at the County Highway Department Friday, September 2J~, 1971 at 9:00 A.I•. "CATV" I•eeting : A letter was read regaraiz~ A Special I•Ieet.ng to study aspects of "C:1TV" beint; held ~°dednesday, September 29, 1971 at 7:3G P.i. at Brookl~m Center City Hall. DOUb1P, Home Art Jur~enson, 1301 Cannon, appeared at the meeting to Con.~truction - discuss the construction of a double home at the property 1711 North Albert: located at 1711 North Albert. Black moved that the appli- cation for a double home submitted by Art Jurgenson, for the property at 1711 I3or-th Albert be approved su'oject to the recommendation of the Village Engineerin regards to the driveway and parking and with the further understanding that the driveway be constructed not less than five feet from the south property line. Ecklund seconded and the motion carried. Drainage Ditch tlrs. J. Kernmer, 1768 Tatum Street, appeared at the meetit~; Problem: to discuss a drainage problem. Ecklund moved that the Vi1:]_a.g,e :engineer be instructed to make a recommendation and report regarding the drainage on the east side of Tatum Street between Kemmer's, 1768 Tatum and Beak's, 1776 Tatum. Liquor License Diary A. nester, 1917 St. Anthan~r, St. Paul, P'iinnesota, Application: organizer and operator of the S-,v-it~ing Adult Singles Club, submitted a letter requesting a liquor license to operate a supper club in Falcon Heights. Youth Hockey Six members of the youth hockey colunittee were present to Com=nittee Present: discuss the youth hockey rink const~.uction on the Falcon i~•Joods playground. The members will appear at the Special i-leeting of September 30, 1971 at 9:30 P.Ti. to discuss further the construction and costs. Falcon Heights Ecklund :roved that the Village authorize a study by Robert Prunicipal Liquor Ackerman and Associates, as represented by Harold Hanson, Operation Study: to be made of the tentative Falcon Heights I~iunicipal Lic,uor Operation, the study to include traffic su~^trey and buildings presently available along with a study of proposed new construction, cost of the study not to exceed X1000. Taylor seconded and the motion carried. 3493 Variance Request - Black moved that the variance application submitted by 1707 Lindig Street: Anthor~ Englund, 903 Eustis Street, for construction of a parking lot at 170.7 Lindig Street to allow for more off- street parking, be submitted to the Planning Commission for recommendation. Taylor seconded and the motion carried. (A Letter was sent to T~;r. Englund requesting a detailed drawing.} Variance Request Bia.ck moved that the Village Clerk be directed to write a Letter to Harry letter further advising rlr. Olson that a variance request Olson - 11~3r'~ yaest has not been received and ~:e would approciate having his Larpenteur Avenue: variance application to submit to the Planning Commission for reco~ruriendation. Ecklund seconded and the motion carried. Variance Granted - Black moved that the application submitted by Richard 1975 Autumn Street: Bardon, Jr., 1975 Autumn Street, for extension of his six foot fence to the north by a distance of 4~z feet as is indicated per drawing, be granted. In granting this re- auest it is noted that there is approval from the neighbor to the north, also, this fence at this location is not in violation of Ordinance Tao. 64. Ecklund seconded and the motion carried. Master Gas Taylor moved that a master gas installers license be ap- License Approved: proved for the Suburban Heating Company, Inc., 2050 tirhite Bear Avenue, St. Paul, foM the period commencing July 1, 1971 and ending June 30, 1972. Black seconded and the motion carried. Sheriff's ~~eport: Ecklund read the Sheriff's Zeport for August. Letter to I~rs. A letter was drafted by Attorney Seed to ?sirs. Peary Gillette, Mary Gillette - 1711 Linaig ,~ reef, regarding a truck parked in the drive- 1711 Lindig Street - way at this location in violation of Section i4.2 (2.7} of :Ke: Parked Truclc: Ordinance 64. (Truck is registered to Stellian Compan;.r, i7ll north Snelling Avenue.)
