A regular mee~i.ng of the Falcon Heights Council was called to order by Mayor
Warkeritien at 7:5U P.M., on December c"3, 1971.

present were Clerk-Ao'ministrator Barnes, Engineer i,emberg and Attorney
Zdrazil.

minutes: P~iotion by Councilman Taylor, seconded by Councilman Black,
to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of November
2~, 1.y71, with the following amendments:
Page 1, Paragraph 9, should read "The matter of the variance
recauest for the Harry Olson property, lt~3b °vdest Larpenteur
Avenue. Pir. and Nlrs. Harry Olson, their Attorney, Tryil3iant
J. McEvoy, and 29 neighbors appeared in support of the
Oisons request for variance. Mayor Vdarkentien said that
in view of numerous derogatory remarks being made that it
was his intent to set the record straight that the Council
and Planning Commission members have worked diligently on
this request and other matters. That it is the intent of
the Courtcii. to consider the P ~ arming Cor.,mission recommenda-
tion. and likewise consider the variance request in behalf
of the Olsons in respect to the Village Ordinance in the
matter. Councilman Black read all previous letters between
the Vil~~age Office, Planning Conunission, and the Olsons,
and other petitions, requests, provisions of Ordinance No.
6i:, filed in the office of the Village Clerk. No applica-
tion was applied for previous to construction of t'rte fence.
i•ir. Olson related that he thought the swimming pool instal-
ler had obtained permits in 1968 to construct the fence
at the same time pertnits were obtained for the pool instal-
lation. The previous fence was installed before the Ordin-
ance came into effect.
Page 2, Par•a.graph :i.0, should read "I~ir. ifc%voy suggested
leaving the fence at the present location on a trial basis."
Pate i~, Paragraph 7, should read "If a Hi-raise Development
wex•e constructed on Larpenteur Avenue west of Tatum Street."

Insert on page 3, Councilman Ec'r;lund moved, seconded by
t•Iayor T~raarkentien, that the Clerk=Administrator was instructed
to recuest the Village Engineer to study the need for a
proposed stop sign on the east bound lane of huggles Street
at Asbux~ Avenue. Motion carried.
Sewer :~iepair A letter was read from Attorney's Smith, Blomquist, Vitko
Claim: any:. iiur,~niel. seeking reimbursement for the sewer repair claim
of i•rs. Udward NIolin, 1t~33 ~°~est Larpenteur avenue, in the
amount of 4~~30.21;, tahich pa3~,ent was denied by the Village
a+.. its meeting of November 2~., 197i. :engineer Lemberg was
instructed to ca11 the Attorney and discuss the Village
policy on payment of sewer claims.
Piaster Gas Counci iman Taylor moved, seconded by Councilman B1acI~, to
License Granted.: approve a master gas installers license for the Ttain City
Furnace Company, ;~59 North Snelling Avenue, St. Paul, i~iinrl.,
for the period commencing Juiy 1, 1971 and ending June 30,
10;2. Motion carried.
Insurance Bid Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund,
Award: that the Paul J. Brener Con;pa.ny, 625 Stryker Avenue, St.
°aul, IF~innesota, be awarded the Village insurance contract
for the year 1972 on the basis of the bid which he sub-
mitted, and is labeled alternate No. 1, in the amount of
:2,981.28. Motion carried.

Stop Sign at Councilman Stone moved, seconded by Councilman Taylor, to

Street Denied: Street, on the Eecommendation of Engineer Lemberg as the
proposed sign does not sex°ve any pux~pose other than to try
