Also present were Clerk-Administrator Barnes, Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Zdrazil. ABSENT: Councilwoman Stocker Publication George P~.ffez•ty of Progressive Design Associates, explained for Bids: his error in not inserting a proper legal advertisement for construction bids for the T~Zunicipal liquor store in the official newspaper and therefore requested the Council to authorize advertisement for construction bids for submis- sion on September 12, 1972, at 2:00 P.T<~. A discussion was held in respect to the advertisement for legal notice and it ttiTas determined that this advertisement was a legal notice as it designated the Village of Falcon Heights as owner. Special Tieeting : I~iotion by Councilman Stone, seconded by T•Iayor Trdarkentien, to set a special meeting September 12, 1972, at 8:00 P.M. to consider bids for the remodeling of the Municipal liquor store. Motion carried. Completion Date T-iotion by Councilman Black, seconded by Councilman Stone, of Liquor Store: to authorize an addendum to the :Liquor store specifications amending the completion date to December 8, 1972, in lieu of December 1, 1972. Tlotion carried. Liquor Store John E. Bergstedt discussed the drawings in respect tothe Fixtures: liquor store fixtures relating that open areas should be provided for displaying liquor stock for promotional pur- poses. He also recommended having both check out counters installed initially to avoid higher cost later on. Liquor S ire The Council set September 6, 1972, at 5:00 P.TZ., to tour Tour Date: several lioluor stores with John Bergstedt and George l~.affe~,ty and Associates. Request to Clem A. Lehnen, operator of Falcon Bowling Lanes, 1550 T~~Test Reconsider Denial Larpenteur Avenue, requested the Council to reconsider his of Variance - variance request which was denied August 10, 1972, for an Falcon Lanes: additional sign to the existing sign. After considerable discussion as to the number of bulbs and the distance the new sign would protrude from the building the following action was talcen Motion by Councilman Black, seconded by T~Tayor Warkentien, to reconsider the denial of a variance of August 10, 1972, for Cler+i L•ehnen, 1550 T~;est Larpenteur Avenue. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stone, seconded by Councilman Bl~.ck, to defer action on the variance until September 1l~, 1972, in order to allow Mr. Lehnen sufficient time to determine whether the running lights could be eliminated. Roll Call Vote - AYES: Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Stone. NAY: Mayor tilarkentien. Motion carried. 1 Additional Sewer Motion by Councilman Stone, seconded by P~~ayor Warkentien, Lines Cleaned: to authorize American Pipe Services to clean an additional 893 feet of sanitary sewer lines in the vicinity of Larpen- teur and Snelling Avenues, at a cost of $281.30. Motion carried. Domed Stadium A discussion in general was held in respect to the proposed Discussion: domed stadium to be located at the State fair grounds. NSayor tivarkentien reported that Mayor Cohen of St. Paul had requested a meeting on September 7, 1972, and asked the Council to indicate their feelings as to such a stadium.
