A regular meeting of the Falcon Ileights Village Council was called to order by
Acting Mayor Stone at ~?:00 P.PJ.
Acting PTayor Stone, Councilmen Black and Ecklund, and PRESETdT
Councilwoman Stocker. Also present were Engineer
Lemberg and Attorne;r Kenefick.

are on vacation.
Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilwoman Stocker, I4~IAITJ'I'ES
to approve the minutes of the meeting of June 2~, 1973,
as corrected. Iiotion carried.
Councilman Ecklund moved, seconded by Councilman Black, CIGARETTE LICENSE REP,rETr1ALS
to approve the following Cigarette License renewals for
the period of July 1, 1973 to June 30, 1971, as follows
Charles J. Vo1in -State Fair Grounds
Tierrill R. Kurrelmeier DBA Tom Thumb Superette
Pioneer Distributing Co., for Flameburger Restaurant

Councilwoman Stocker moved, seconded by Councilman Black, I;A.STER GAS IT•1STALLER'S
to approve the I•Zaster Gas Installer's License renewals LICETISE REPTEWALS

follows:

Licenses for the period of July 1, 1973 to June 30, 1971,
as follows:

Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilwoman Stocker, VARIAT~ICE - 1360 W. IOWA
to approve a three foot variance for a garage at the
Charles Reynolds' residence, 1360 ti~T. Iowa Avenue, which
would allow the garage to be built two feet from the alley
and two feet from the west lot line. Potion carried.
Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilwoman Stocker, VARIANICE - 1376 tid. LARPETITEUR
to approve a variance request by Loretta Duffy, 1376
W. Larpenteur, which would allow for the construction of
a do~_lble garage replacing a single garage four feet from
the alley line and two feet from the east lot line. T~1o-
tion carried.
Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund,
to submit the variance request by Tlarvin Flodin for a two
foot variance on the south side of his apartment building
at 1166 ti~J. Larpenteur Avenue, for a six car garage, and
a two foot variance on the-east and west sides of the
building which would be needed for entering the garage,
to the Falcon Heights Planning Commission. Tlotion
carried.

The request by Donald J. Quinn, 1517 Huron Street, St. REQUEST TO MOVE HOME I?'ITO
Paul, for permission to move his home into the Village TIIE VILLAGE
at the lot north of 1576 Snelling Drive, was referred--
to the Building Tnspector. The building and its foun-
dation must conform with the Falcon Heights Building
Code.
T^r. and T~Zrs. Richard Brown, 15t~6 Crawford, were present
to discuss the water run off from the Falcon Heights
T~~unicipal Liquor Store parking lot, into their yard
and the basement of their home. Engineer Lemberg
was directed to check into the matter and see if possibly
the grade of the lot had been changed during construc-
tion.
Councilman Stone introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption:

Councilman Black seconded the foregoing Resolution and
upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted
in favor thereof : Acting T~Iayor Stone, Councilmen Black
and Ecklund, and Councilwoman Stocker. T~Totion unanimously
carried.

Pascal Avenue, for Volunteer Fireman was deferred until
the next meeting.
Councilwoman Stocker stated that she and Engineer Lemberg T.~E'1'ITTG WITH UTIIVERSITY
met with a subcommittee of the University of T-linnesota REGETIT5 OTT PARK PLATIS
Regents on the afternoon of July 12, 1973, to discuss
the proposed plans for the Falcon Heights Community
Park, and the possibility of extending the lease on the
property for twenty years. She stated that the committee
did not look unfavorably on extending the lease, but felt
they needed more time to look into the matter, and they
would like more history and back up data before making a
final decision. Councilwoman Stocker stated that the
Regent's next meeting will be August °, 1973.

Councilman Ecklund moved, seconded by Councilman Stone, JACK POST MET40RIAL
that two men from the Falcon Heights Volunteer Fire RESCUE SCHOOL
Department be allowed to attend the JacTc Yost T•7emorial
Rescue School, August 1~th and 5th, with. per diem. TZotion
carried.
Councilman Ecklund requested that Clerk Administrator
Barnes contact the Village of Lauderdale, when he returns
from vacation in order to find out about the police and
rescue agreement offered to Lauderdale, and stated that
the Village of Falcon TTeights should request the Ramsey
County Sheriff's Department not use the Village car for
rescue purposes in the Village of Lauderdale.
The report of Kathy LaShomb, Recreation Director, on the
activities being offered in the recreation program was
noted, as was the report on the Teen Group's Softball
T•?arathon preparation.
Fire reports nlzmbers 2?~, 25, 26 and 27, were noted.
