The Special Meeting of October 3, 1968 was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with
the following members present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Stone
and Ecklund and Attorney Seed. Clerk Strandquist was absent.
Fire Department: Reviewed Fire Department write-up and proposal.
Norm Ecklund wil]. present tYis on October 10.
Fire Department Budget: Council agreed upon the budget figures for the
Fire Department.
Civil Defense: Letter from H. Dachtera, Civil Defense Director,
dated October 2, 1968 was read. Council discussed
Bell & Light Systems, Relay for Automatic Siren Control
and Workshop Expenses.
Warkentien moved, seconded by Ecklund that permission
be given to Mr. Dachtera to turn over the records and
supplies on University Property to Mr. Wally Caryl, the
Civil Defense Director for the University of Minnesota.
Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion Carried.

Recorder for Meetings: The Council discussed the passibility of =::obtaining
a recorder for thenext meeting. Bill Olsen will look
into this and try to get one.
Street Light on Hamline Tabled matter of Street Light on Hamline between Iowa
between Iowa & Hoyt: & Hoyt until we receive a sketch of the new driveway
cut and it is reviewed by our Village Engineer.
Village Officials The Council decided against increasing Village Officials

Budget: The Council worked on the Budget Re-Cap.
Adjourrunent: The Special Meeting was adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
