The regular meeting was called to order at 7:12 p.m. with the following
members present: Mayor Warkentein, Councilmen Black, Stone and Ecklund.
Also present were Attorney Seed, Engineer Lemberg and Treasurer Olsen.
Minutes: Black moved, seconded by Stone that the minutes of the
Special Meeting of October 29, 1968 be approved. Ayes:
All. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Correspondence
Falcon Heights Letter of November 6, 1968 was read to the Council and
Recreation Qom: taken under advisement.
Ramsey County 4,775 miles patrolled; 63 tickets issued; 116 calls
Police Report: answered on Sherriff's radio during October. Complete
report given to Ecklund.
Human Rights Minutes of October 21~, 1968 meeting wese distributed to
Commission: each Council Member.
Ltr of Apprec: Mayor read letter of appreciation from Village of St.
Anthony dated November ~., 1968 regarding Fal con Heights'
Fire Department answer to fire of November 1, 1968.
Christmas Trees: Ecklund moved, Stone seconded to grant a General Corporate
Licence to Chris Peterson, Forestry Club, U. of M. for a
Christmas Tree Lot to be loceated at the school house on
the corner of Cleveland and Larpenteur from-December 1 to
about December 20, 1968. Ayes: Unanimous. Nb tion carried.
Appli cation for Ecklund moved, seconded by Black that the Pizza Hut of
3.2 Beer License Falcon Heights. be denidd a 3.2 beer license referencing
from Pizza Hut: Section 7, Subordnance 2 of Ordnance 5 which requires a
business to be in operation within the Village for six
months before applying for such a license. Also, the
clerk shall return the $35.00 check for the permit.

Two-Way Radio Invitation for Bids closed 8:00 P.M. Donner Communications,
Communication Air Com and Motorola submitted bids. See the attached sheet
System: for details.
Bidders were informed that action will be deferred until
Saturday morning at 9:00 A.M., November 16, 1968, to give
the Engineer and other involved parties a change to review the bids.
Street S~reeping: Stone moved, Ecklund seconded that street sweeping be authorized
by the Village. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Mayor moved, Black seconded that the Clerk be authorized to
purchase 200 "No Parking" signs to be used by the Maintenance
Department during street sweeping. Ayes: All. Nays: None.
Motion carried.

Blomberg Street Light: Stone moved, Black seconded that the Village authorize NSP to
install a 250 watt mercury vapor street light midblock on the
west side of, Hamline between Iowa and Hoyt. Ayes: Warkentein,
Stone, Black. Naye~ None. Ecklund abstained. Motion carried.
Stop Signs: Engineer Lemberg suggested stop signs on Idaho, Iowa. and
California for cars entering onto Arona, to protect Arona.
Stone moved, Mayor seconded th~;t the Engineer be authorized to
order five (5) thru stop signs to be placed on Idaho, Iowa
and California. Ayes: Unanimous. Motion carried.
Fire Dept Equip: Ecklund moved, Stone seconded that Purchase Requisition dated
November 7, 1968 requesting two #731 E. R. Radar Light Batteries,
® 2.95 each; two rubber head mallets @ 2.75 each; one piece
Double Jacket - !~~" soft suction hose 121- feet long (Eng 2)
@ 85.60; one piece Double Jacket - la.~" soft suction hose
11~~'feet long (Eng 1) @ 81.25; one 211 Lantern Lens @ 1.00
and two ~1tm Lantern Batteries @ 1.25 each be approved for
Purchase. Ayes: Unanimous. Motion carried.
Insurance Policies: Black stated that the present policies expire December 1, 1968.
He has asked for an extension to January 1, 1969. Black moved,
Stone seconded that specifications be drawm and bids opened
at 8:00, December 12, 1968, for policies involving
Comprehensive Liability, Automobile Liability and Workmen's
Compensation Insurance. Ayes: Unanimous. Motion carried.
Blomberg Construction: Black moved, Stone seconded that approval be granted to
R. Blomberg located at Iowa and Hamline to construct a 20 foot
addition to the rear of the drug store building as well as
resurface the parking lot on the south side of the grocery
store of that location in accordance with the plans in the
hands of the Building Inspector. Ayes: A11. Nays: None.
Motion carried.
Letter to Metro Black moved, seconded by Warkentein, that a letter, as read,
Council: be sent to the Metropolitan Council under the signature of
the Clerk. Ayes: Unanimous. Motion carried.
Acceptance of Stone moved, Black seconded that the Council accept Ben Kuefler's
Ben Kuefler's resignation of November 6, 1968, as set forth in his letter of .
Resignation: that date. Also, thkt Ben Kuefler's offer to help the Village
with the bookkeeping be accepted and that he be paid at the
rate of $2.50 per hour; his hours of work being directed by the
Village Clerk or Treasurer. Ayes: Unanimous. Motion Carried.
Wage fdr Warkentein moved, Ecklund seconded that Maureen McMullen be
Maureen McMullen: paid for Thursday evening, November ]1.~, 1968 and for the
Saturday mornings -she will be working at the rate of $2.60
an hour. Ayes: Unanimous. Motion carried.
Snow Removal: Black moved, Stone seconded that the Village engage Ken Moore
to remove snow from the Village skating rinks and Village Hall
Parking Lot, and as directed, for 1968-69 at the same price
and that his insurance be adjusted in the same manner as last
year. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried.

Special Meeting Stone moved, Warkentien seconded that a special meeting be held
Saturday, Nov 16: Saturday morning at 9:00 A.M. ~'or the purpose of awarding the
bid on the communication equipment for the Fire Department
and also to appoint election judges for the upcoming village election.
Ayes: A11. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Regular meeting: Stone moved, seconded by Warkentien that the regular meeting
of 28 November be moved to 27 November` due to Thanksgiving on the 28th
Ayes: Unanimous. Motion carried.
