MEETING OF JIINE 12, 1969
7lie regular meeting of June 12, 1969 was called to order at 7:10 P.M. with
the following members present: Mayor Warkentien, Clerk Taylor, Councilmen
Stone and Black. (Councilman Ecklund arrived shortly after.) Also present
were Engineer Lemberg and Treasurer Olsen.
Minutes: Councilman Black moved, Councilman Stone seconded
the approval of the May 22, 1969 minutes as correc-
ted. The motion carried.
B & E Patrol: A representative of the B & E Patrol appeared to
discuss with Council methods by which the number
of violations of the Dog Ordinance could be curbed.
Clerk Taylor was asked to put on the agenda for the
next meeting the suggestion that penalties for
owners of unleashed dogs be increased, and that a
piece be put in the newspaper informing the public
of the number of the B & E Patrol to call when an
unleashed dog is seen. Councilman Stone made a
motion that patrol time be increased from 8 to 16
hours per month for the months of June, Ju],y and
August. Councilman Black seconded the motion and
it carried.
Bid for Street Engineer Lemberg read the bid for street and alley
and A11ey Main- maintenance which was received from Armor-Coat
tenance: Companyy, Inc. in the amount of $5,535, work to be
started June 1 and completed August 1. It was
submitted for tabulation and recommendation.
Hemline Avenue Engineer Lemberg read two bids for the Hemline
Water Main Avenue Water Main Project. The first was from
Pro3ect Bids: Austin P. Keller Construction Company in the amount
of $12,522.50, work to be started June 23 and comp-
leted as specified.
The second bid was from C. S. McCrossan, Inc. i.n
the amount of $12,719.40, work to be started as
specified and completed as specified. Both bids
were submitted for tabulation and recommendation.
Application for An application for variance signed by Sussel Com-

The Planning Commission rev3.ewed the request and
recommended granting of application. Councilman
Black moved that the request for variance be granted

Councilman Stone seconded. The motion carried. (The secretary
was instructed by Councilman Black to write a letter to Richard
Magnuson, building inspector, 1810 Holton, notifying him of
this letter.
Resignation of Clerk Taylor read a letter of resignation received from Sharon
Sharon Hofmann, Hofmann, deputy clerk. He moved that the resignation be aceep-

Sanitary Sewer Clerk Taylor read a letter received from Attorney Seed relative
Contract -- to the Sanitary Sewer Contract for the cost of a repair job to the
Arundel Street: Arundel Street sewer line which was done in 1967. The matter
was tabled for the present.

Hemline Avenue After discussion, Councilman Ecklund moved that all bids on
Water Main Hemline Avenue Water Main Project be rejected on the basis that

that the Village Clerk be instructed to re-advertise for bids,
new bids to be in by 8:00 P.M. July 10, 1969 and thesame ad to
be used with changed date. The motion was seconded by Clerk
Taylor. The motion carried.
Replaceanent of Councilman Ecklund moved that the clerk be instructed to author-

Councilman B1aek moved that the clerk be authorized to purchase
a steel door for the north pedestrian entrance at a cost of
X210 (including hardware). Councilman Stone seconded. The
motion carried.
