Also present was Treasurer Olsen. F~gineer Lemberg arrived at 8:t~5 P.pI. Minutes: Ecklund moved and Black seconded that the minutes of the July 2~., 1969 meeting be approved as corrected. Special Stone moved that correspondence, dated August 6, 1969, from Assessments: Ramsey County Auditor's Office regarding the pre-payment of unpaid balances of special assessments together with attached date be ref erred to Village Attorney for perusal and advisement to the Council. Black seconded and motion carried. Pizza Hut "On-Sale" License: Cigarette License Renewals: LJ Filling Station License Renewals: License i-ienewals for Non-Intoxicating T~a.lt Liquor "Off-Sale'' Motion was made by Ecklund to approve "On-Sale'' Non-Intoxic- ating Pia1t Liquor License for the Pizza Hut, located at 1650 N. Snelling Drive. Black seconded and motion carried. Taylor moved that the following cigarette licenses be approved for the period commencing July 1, 1969, and ending June 30, 1970: Pizza Hut, 1650 N. Variance A variance application having been submitted to and recommended Application, far approval by the Planning Commission for Mr. Gene L. Piche, Gene L. Piche, at 1758 N. Albert St. was presented to the Council. Black moved 1758 N. Albert: that the request be approved subject to the roof being constructed in such a manner that the encroachment upon the set-back on the north part of the lot not be any greater than is the case with the present structure. Seconded by Ecklund and motion carried. Farmers Union GTA Ecklund moved that the Falcon Heights Fire Department be author- Parking Lot Lease ized to enter into a lease with the Farmers Union Grain Terminal for Fire Department Assn. of Falcon Heights for the sum of X1.00 for the use of During State Fair: parking lot during the 5 days covering the week-ends during the State Fair. Taylor seconded and the motion carried. Applications for Ecklund moved that applications be approved for Frank Wandmacher Volunteer Firemen: of 1687 N. Fry St. and ~~.obert Spiess of 1803 Eustis 5t. as vol- unteer firemen by Village of Falcon Heights subject to passing physical examination and six months probationary period. Taylor seconded and motion carried. T~orman cklund Black moved that application be approved for Norman Ecklund, Volunteer Fireman: 191 Sumner St., as volunteer fireman by the Village of Falcon Heights subject to passing physical examination and six months probationary period. Stone seconded and motion carried. K. I. Lolzen, 16i~5 Ecklund moved that the Village pay Keith I. Loken, 16t~5 Garden Garden, reimbursement: Ave. the sum of X18.00 due to sewer line obstruction on June 18, 1969, this being the full and complete claim for this incident. Tt was suggested that Villge Justice of the Clerk ask ~Jilliam P. Carroll, Justice of the Peace for Falcon Peace: Heights, to take over until a new JP could be appointed. Attorney ' Seed said Council has the authority to appoint a successor. Armor Coat Taylor moved that the second and final payment in the amount of Payment: X500 be made to Armor Coat 3c Co. for the 1969 Village street and alley maintenance project as recommended by Village Engineer. Stone seconded and motion carried. 2905 Sidewalk Improvement Taylor moved that the Village accept the sidewalk improvement Project: project 1i11-68 as completed and that the second and final pay- ment in the amount of w10,952.60 be made to Lieberg Construction Campany as recommended by the Village ~ineer. Seconded by Black amd carried. He also was instructed to check to see i.f the State is going to put up such signs on west side of Snelling Drive. Ecklund seconded motion and it carried. American Pipe It was suggested that we ask a representative of the American Cleaning Company: Pipe Cleaning Company to attend the next Council meeting and give a presentation on the cost of maintaining the Village sewer system.
