1. The Village Council hereby determines that the sum.
of ;~ ,~ shall be assessed against benefited property

valuation.

2. The Village Clerk with the assistance of the Village
Consulting L'ngineer shall forthwith calculate the proper
amount to be specially assessed for such improvement against
every assesss~ble lot, ,.piece, or parcel of land tirithout
regard to cash valuation as provided by 1at~, and he shall
file a cop~r of such proposed assessment in his office for
public inspection.
3. Once the assessment roll is on file in the office
of the Village Clerk, the Clem; shall publish notice that
this Council t:~i.11 meet to consider the proposed assessments
on October 9, 1969 at 8 otclock P.T'I. in the Village Hall.
~.. Said notice shall also be mailed to the owners of
each parcel of property described in the assessment roll.
5. Such notice shall be in su'ostantially the following

6. Said notice shall be published by the Village Clerk
in the official newspaper and mailed by said Clerk to the
o~mers of each parcel described in the assessment roll at
least two weeks prior to the hearing.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution
was duly seconded by member Lcklund, and upon a vote taken
thereon, the following; voted in favor thereof

lowing voted against the same: None.

"l. That it is advisable, expedient, and necessary

it is to include two catch ~i'asins and leads at the inter-
section of Brior and 'ioselaV~n.^
and that the action taken by the Village.Council as reflected

RESOLUTION URGING CONTINUATION OF
TAX EXEMPT~C~ DI3 MUNICIPAL BONDS
EXHIBIT "A"
WHEREAS, it is reported that the Congress of the
United States is considering proposals to modify the tax
exemption accorded to municipal bonds which are issued to
finance the capital needs of local government; and

WHEREAS, the proposal to tax municipal bond inter-
est will require local govenments to pay higher interest rates
and thereby impose an additional burden on the already overbur-
dened local property tax source; and
WHEREAS, any attempts by the Federal Government to
subsidize local government in the payment of such higher in-
terest rates would prove unduly burdensome and unworkable;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council
of the Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota that Congressman
Joseph Karth and Senators Eugene McCarthy and Fritz Mondale
take such steps as are necessary to assure full retention of
the tax exemption feature pertaining to municipal bond inter-
est. ~~
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized
and directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the
appropriate elected representatives of the people of the State
of Minnesota in the United States Congress.
