HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCMin_69Nov132927 MEETING OF NOYEN~ER 13, 1969 The regular meeting of November l3, 1969 was called to order at 7:08 P.M. with the following members present: :Clerk Taylor, Councilmen Black, Ecklund and Stone. Mayor Warkentien arrived at 7:~.5P.M. Treasurer Olsen arr3.ved at 7:15, Engineer Lemberg at 7:30 and Attorney Seed at 7:35. Minutes: Stone moved that the minutes of the October 23, 19b9 meeting be approved as corrected. Taylor seconded and motion carried. Ecklund moved that the minutes of the special meeting of October 25, 19b9 be approved. Stone seconded and motion carried. Sidewalk Assessment Mr. Donald Alexander appeared at the Council meeting to Cost - 1375 West Towa discuss his views regarding the sidewalk assessment. He Avenue: doesn't want to pay the full amount becauae of. breakage on part of the sidewalk. Councilman Stone and Engineer Lemberg will meet at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 15, 1969 to inspect the property. Sewer Computer Billing: Mr. Robert D. Mi1.ne appeared at the Council meeting to present his proposal for co¢nputerizing sewer billing for the Village of Falcon heights. Council will discuss this further before arty decision is made. Dr. Hard, Horticulturist: Dr. Hard appeared at the Council meeting to discuss a survey program for taking care of trees to determine extent of work needed. He will get a listing ready for contract by the next Council meet3.ng of November 26, 1969. Election Judges Stone moved that the following people be appointed f'or Appointed: Election Judges for the December 2, 1969 Village Election: Precinct l: Mrs. Rath Martin -Chairman, Mrs. Laura Rust Mrs. James Janos Precinct 2: Mrs. Rhodie Arndt - Cha3sman Mrs. Marie Christenson Mrs. Emma Dawson Precinct 3: Mrs. Gladys MacKnight -Chairman Mrs. Donna Brady Mrs. Alice Robertson Precinct ~s Mrs. Betty Jones - Chairman Mrs. Eleanor Bourquin Mrs. Kathy Meehan Ecklund seconded and motion carried. Sheriff's Report: Ecklund read Sheriffs report for month of October. 2928 ~ ~~ lll+ Nerve Flag for Warkentien moved that the Village Clerk be authorized Village Preaaises: to order a nor American flag for the outside flagpole the same size as the present flag. Stone seconded and motion carried. Insurance Bids Black moved that the Clerk be authorized to forKard S~iecifications: speci.fieations for insurance bids in accordance with the copy which the Council discussed and which will. be maintained in the Village office, Ecklund seconded and motion carried. Electric Heaters for Black moved that we authorize the Pillage maintenance Falcon Heights School man to procure two electrical heaters for the Falcon Wat'~n3ng House: Heights School warming house identical to those at Falcon Woods Playground, at a cost of $!~7 each, plus installation. Taylor seconded and motion carried. Lighting on Arona Waskentien read a letter froau Bethel College requesting Avenue -Letter more lighting on Arona Avenue between the College and from Bethel College: Larperrteur Avenue. Black moved that we authorize the Clerk to answer the letter from Bethel College indicating the adequaoy of the present lighting is Falcon Heights. Stone seconded " and motion carried. Letter from Civil Warkentien read a letter fran Mr. Luria S. Allen, Civil Defense Director, Defense Director, highly praising Henxy Daehtera for Lorin S. A11ea: his volunteered services to help Ramsey County Civil Defense daring °Operation Ar~townn, conducted at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Mr. Dachtera worked on his own time prior to the exercise. Warkentien moved we aclawwledge our thanks and appreciation for the favorable publicity Mr. Dachtera has brought to the Village. Ecklund seconded and motion carried.. Application for Ecklund moved that the application for plumbing license Plumbing License: for ~ Plumbing and Heating Compaq, 935 University Avenue, be approved. Black seconded and motion carried. Arundel Street Repair Attorney Seed and Engineer Lemberg have negotiated with Pro3eet -Falcon Heights the City of St. Paul concerning Falcon Heights share of rare of Cost: the cost of the Arundel Stiteet Repaix Pro3ect. A settle- ment of $9000 has been proposed. Attorney Seed and Engineer Leaaberg wi11 set up a meeting with the Village of Roseville and the Village of White Bear Lake to get their opinions on the sub3ect. Parking Problem on Iowa Ecklund xeported that the parking situation at Iowa and and Hamline Avenue: Haml.ine Avenue was checked by himself and the Ramseur County Sheriffs Department. He will check further and make a report to the Village Council. Re~ul.ar Meeting Stone moved that the regular meeting of November 27 be Date Changed: moved to November 26 due to Thanksgiving Day on the 27.
