E. AGENDA:
1. State Fair City Ordinances
Julie Ebbesen states that there have been many discussions online regarding the
City's policies about the State Fair. In addition, the City needs to get information out
earlier about all state fair events so that residents are aware of what is happening
around the City.
Mayor Gustafson states that there will be a town hall meeting Wednesday regarding
the Cities State Fair Policies.
Curt Stockford states that talks about how one-side street parking works for the state
fair.
2. 2023 Goals
Ebbesen states 2022 goals. Ebbesen says that the communication goal of the City
needs to get information out sooner to residents. Ebbesen states the City should have
another town hall meeting for something other than a controversial topic, such as the
community park and the city hall open house from October to November.
LaDouceur asks the council liaison if they are still mailing postcards to new
residents.
Sorensen states no but will start sending them out again.
Curt Stockford states the City of Winona has an initiative where City Officials give
residents a tour of the city services.
3. Human Rights Day
Julie Ebbessen states the international institute, just deeds, a gun advocacy group,
and other organizations could inform residents about their organizations at the
elementary school.
LaDouceur states having booths with all these organizations at the elementary
school.
Julie Ebbessen states that Human Rights Day is tentatively on December 8th.
Curt Stockford says another organization at one of the booths could be the county
navigator program.
4. Update New Resident Packet
The Commission Members will mark up the paper copies of the new resident packet
and give them to the staff liaison at the next Community Engagement Commission
meeting to update.
