RE: July 13, 1988 Council Meeting Cancellation
Due to the Lack of policy agenda items for the July 13, 1988 City Council
Meeting, I am recommending that we cancel the meeting. Enclosed are copies
of the consent agenda items. We can take a vote on the items by polling
the council by telephone so the bills can be paid and licenses can be
issued.
Policy agenda items which will be delayed until the July 27_mesting.:include;
1) Public Hearing on Non-Conforming Use Ordinance
Due to the 4th of July holiday the newspap~.r:~deadline was changed and
we were not able to provide adequate public notice for the July 13th
meeting so notice has been published for the July 27 meeting.
2) Policy on Employee Involvement in Fire Department
This is still being researched and will be ready for the July 27 meeting
3) Parks and Recreation
There are two items being prepared for the July 27 meeting:
1. Policy regarding park permits, and
2, Recommendations to eliminate safety hazards.
If any of you know of any reasons why we should meet, (or if you can't
find anything to do Wednesday night) give me a call.

Section 13 - what guidelines are used, what procedures are used,
what check and balance is in place to oversee the situation?
Section 14 - recommend to shorten the grievance procedure to
possibly 5 days each.

Pat talked to both Focus and Bugle
FOCUS - did not seem too excited, didn't think it should be highlighted with
logo. It should be like a news article, they would fit it in if possible.
BUGLE - the woman in the office was positive about the idea:
1) as an ad with logo $17-18 a month (one time)
2) submit as a news article and the will fft it in if there vas room.
Both need to be submitted about two weeks prior.
Marie will write up an article to submit, re: general information. She
will contact Pat Rosters.
Leagues of Auman Rights Conference:
Anderson will not be speaking, Matthew Stark will be speaking.
Operation and Administration:

the committee recommends that a statement be included regarding removal of
member from commission.
