WIIIIAY PRANKS I am enclosing billing statements for the months of June, July and August1987. You will notice a dramatic change in the fornm of the billing document. I am hopeful that this will provide the city with lire useful information regarding prosecution services. There is a billing document for each prosecution and each document itemizes work done by various people within our firm by date. I am requesting that the City of Falcon Heights prepare one cherJi for the monthly total. I have highlighted in yellow the individual totals and have included a tape for the total of all individual prosecutions in a particular month. The prosecuticn bills for the month of June inadvertently contained information that had been billed in the month of May. Therefore, there are sane cor'reetions on the JLU~e billing statements. Jim Phillips, an attorney, will be handling most of the court and pretrial appearances on traffic matters. I will appear in connection with ordinance violaticns, gross mfsdaneatnrs and fury trials. Regina Walsh and Virginia Dippel are paralegals who have input on various investigative and trial preparation aspects of the prosecutions. Since June many of the things which I forlllerly did are now being dome by paralegals. The attorney time is being billed at the rate of $42,50 per hour. The paralegaltime, is being billed at the rate of $30.00 per hour. This has resulted in a savings to the city since June of 1987. I am paroposing that the hotacly rates for at'borrle~ys be increased tp $55.00 perhourcommencingDeceanber1, 1987. I believe the 3rrxeaged attor~y rate will be offset by the fact that paralegals can do a fair atnotmt of worm at a lesser hourly rate. I would be happy to discu.SS this matter with you and/or the citycotmcilatyourcorYVetLienoe. Ms. Janet R. Wiessner~ October 13, 1987 Page 2 If you have any questions. Please contact me. SUBMITTED BY: Vincent Wright REVIEWED BY: Jan Wiessner EXPLANATION/SUMMARY (attach additional sheets as necessary): Jim Fuller has offered to buy the old (old)squad and radio for $500.00. Vince checked with Ramsey County and a car dealer and this appears to be a fair price. The "old-old" squad has not been used since we retired the "old" squad. It is just taking up space. Jim Fuller would like to buy the old squad car for $500.00. I have talked to Ramsey County and they said the cars go on auction and they sell for $400.00 to $600.00 depending on their condition. The Ford is not in too good of condi- tion. I do not think $500.00 is too bad of an offer. He would like the old radio s also. They are no good except for parts. Midway Ford gave an estimate of $400.00 - $500.00.
