REGULAR t~IEETING OF NOVEMBER 18, 196l~
This regular meeting was called to order by Trustee Charles Stone, with the
following members present: Clerk W. A. Mortenson; Trustee William Black. Also
present were Treasurer William E. Olsen, Engineer Brad Lemberg, Deputy Clerk
Tina Vavoulis. Mayor tdilsen and 'T`rustee ~Yarkentien arrived at 8:00 P.M.
The minutes of the special meeting of October 3, 1961 were approved of ter motion
by Black, and. second by Mortenson.
Upon motion by Black, seconded by Stone, the minutes of the special meeting of
October 21, 196l~ were approved.
Upon motion by Black, seconded by Mortenson, the minutes of the special meeting
of November ~, 1961 were approved.
Correspondence:
Ramsey County Coroner's Mortenson read letter of invitation to inspect the new
Offices quarters of the Ramsey County Coroner's Office at 155
Hill Street.
Fry Street 'No Parking Warkentien moved that the request for removal of the
on this side of Street' 'No Parking on this side of Street' signs on the east
signs side of Fry Street, starting at the southern edge of
the vacant lot or north of the Robert Hall property,
be granted. Parking will then be permitted north of
the third house on this street. Appropriate signs are
to be placed south of this point continuing parking
restrictions. Motion was seconded by Black and duly
carried,
Trees= Stone moved, seconded by Black that the Village Engineer
be instructed to prepare an advertisement for bids with
all the necessary specifications, to be published in the
legal newspaper for the pruning and other necessary work
for the remaining trees in the Northome area iri such
form as will enable the prospective bidders to bid on the
Sob. Motion carried.
Empty lot north of Shell Stone moved that the matter of cleaning up the vacant
Station on Albert Street: lot on Albert Street north of the Shell Station on
Larpenteur Avenue be referred to the Village attorney
as to the course of action to pursue. Zt is evident
that no action has been taken by owners even though
letter dated. September 25th called attention to
violation of Ordinances 19 and 20.
Fuel Oil for 1965: Stone moved, seconded by ~markentien that the Thorne Coal
and Oil Company continue to supply the heating fuel for
the Village Hall. and Fire Station for the price of 12.3
per gallon. Tdotion carried.
Annual Village Election: The following election 3udges were appointed for the
Annual Village Election to be held on December 8, 196lc.
Polling places vrill be open from 12s00 N to 8:00 P.R~.

Rose Radio Cabs Request was made by Rose Radio Cab of 1082 Dionne Street
for permission to park one cab on North Snelling Drive
between Larpenteur Avenue and Weber': Cafe, Such request
will be granted by the Council upon receipt of certificate
of insurance showing that the Village of Falcon Heights
will be notified in case of cancellation of policy.
Minn. Association Stone moved that the Village of Falcon Heights not loin
of Civil Defense in the activities of the Minnesota Association of Civil
Directors: Defense Directors and the billing submitted for dues be
disapproved. Motion was seconded by Z'~arkentien and
carried,
Hockey Association: The Village of Roseville is sponsoring a hockey program
and the Village of Falcon Heights will participate.
Deputy Clerk was instructed to notify schools that boys
from 8 to 1$ years of age in the Village of Falcon Heights
and also Lauderdale are invited to loin this hockey league
and may register at Har Mar Mall civic auditordum at
7:30 P.M. on December 7. Test Falcon Heights Playground
Assoc iation will also be notified.
Lindig Street Upon recommendation of the Village Engineer, in letter
Surfacing and dated November 17, 196l~, Warkentien moved, Black seconded
Curb & Gutter: that the Lindig Street Surfacing and Curb and Gutter work
be accepted as completed. Further, that the Hennepin
Blacktopping Company be paid in the amount of $~8,960.9t~
due the contractor on Estimate #1 and final. Motion
carried.
Arson: It was brought to the attention of the Council that a
case of arson at 1175 West Larpenteur Avenue is under
investigation.
Roberts Apartments Letter dated November 13 from Donald V, Roberts, President
Parking: of Roberts Construction Company, was read. It stated that
a close watch on parking will be kept so that it will be
in accordance with Village ordinances.
Investments: Nilsen moved that the Village Treasurer be authorized to
invest in U. S. Securities the ~~.,000 plus interest in
the Larpenteur Avenue Water :Main and Pumping Station
account, collected from U. S. Treasury Bills which matured
November 1,~,. Such investment shall not be made until

Treasurer Olsen has consulted with Bob Sander of
Juran and Moody, financial consultants. T+~otion
was seconded by Piortenson and carried.
Bills: Stone moved, Black seconded that the following bills
be paid, Motion carried.
