Also present were Attorney Galvin, Engineer Lemberg, Treasurer Olsen and Deputy Clerk T. Vavoulis. It was moved by Black, seconded by Nilsen that the minutes of the meeting of April 28, 1965 be approved. Carried. Moved by Strandquist, seconded by Black that the minutes of the special meeting of May 5, 1965 be approved. Carried. Correspondences Letter of May 8, 1965 from Justice of the Peace Coppini Paul L. Coppini regarding full-time police force was read. Arthur Jurgensona Letter of May 5, 1965 stated that Mr. Jorgenson has no ob3ection to sand being deposited on lots owned by him south of 1711 North Albert. B & E Patrols Letter of April 30, 1965 from D. J. Bona in answer to the Village letter regarding unlicensed dogs was read. Mr. & Mrs. Philip Letter from Mr. and Mrs. Philip Stocker, l.la.63 West Iowa, Stockers commending the Council on its action with regard to applying for disaster relief from the Federal Government was read. Minutes of April 28 state this Village will. not make application for funds. Sheriff Kermit Invitation from Sheriff Kermit Hedman to attend school Hedmans~ police patrol picnic was read. Rev. Wayne Letter from Mr. VanKirk stated that the action taken by VanKirks V3,11age authorities to avert any water damage from the spring water run-off was appreciated. Senate File 12l~5 Letter of May 7th sent out from Federick P. Memmer's law and House File office regarding a bill introduced in the legislature, waa 1687 -Sale of reviewed. Warkentien introduced the following resolution Municipal and moved its adoptions Obligationss BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of Falcon is opposed to the passage of Senate File 12l~5 and House File 1687 relating to sale of municipal obligations, Village Clerk is hereby instructed to transmit copy of .this resolution to Representative Robert Ashbach and Senator Claude Allen. Black seconded the motion and upon a vote being taken, the motion was carried. Garnet Gallimore - Pursuant to request of the Council, Garnet Gallimore of Standard Oil the Standard Oil Filling Station was present. He was Station: informed that unless a suitable method of burning is instituted, his license may not be renewed. The District Manager of Standard Oil Company will be contacted by the Village Clerk regarding same. 22l~1. Tatum Street Drainages Vernon Whittlef of 1775 Tatum and Harold Sandstrom of 1765 Tatum were present, After discussion, members of the Council recommended that the Village Attorney, the Village Engineer and Mayor Nilsen consult with the Kernmers and the Becks in another effort to obtain ease- ment on their properties. Ed Webster - Ed Webster, owner of the Webster Billiard Lounge sub- Conditional Use witted Conditional Use application for a teen-age dance Application for hall at 153t~ West Larpenteur. Black moved, seconded by Teen-age Dance Warkentien that application be referred to the Planning Hall: Commission for consideration and recommendation. Carried. Russell Bacon Equip- Russell Bacon of 33.5 Colfax Avenut South, Minneapolis went - Radars was present. Warkentien moved that authorization be granted for purchase of Muni Quip Corporation Radar, Model 1200, Series 65. Purchase of same-far X975.00 shall include training of officers in competent use of the equipment, carrying case, and consultation with village attorney, which will enable the village to prove the adequacy of the equipment. Motion was seconded by Black and upon a vote being taken, the following voted in favor thereofs Nilse9,, Strandquist, Stone and Black and Warkentien. The following voted against same: None. Whereupon the foregoing motion was carried. Master Plumber's Having met the requirements, it was moved by Strand- License: quilt, seconded by Black that Master Plumber's License be issued for the following - to expire June 30, 1965: Stanford Schnapp - Al's Plumbing and Heating, Inc. 8392 Center Drive, Minneapolis Upon a vote being taken, motion was carried. Trews Stone moved that pending inquiry as to village policy relating to planting boulevard trees, the Village Council .authorize the Northland Tree Service to cable the taree~: at 1380 Idaho at a cost of X10.00 and to remove the stump at 1525 Idaho for the usual price for removing stumps. Strandquist seconded motion and it was carried. Reservation of Pursuant to request, Warkentien moved, Strandquist seconded. Village Ha11.s that the North Star Little League's request for use of the Village Hall on May 13 at 8x00 P.M. be granted, Motion carried. North Suburban Listing of names of council members in the North Suburban Directorys Directory was deemed unnecessary. Manhole Signs Request for manhole sign removal at 1880 North Snelling should be referred to State Highway Departm®nt. Photographic Studio After review, it appears that M, Craighead at 1365 West 1365 Vest Iowan Iowa is not in violation of Ordinance 64 inasmuch as operations are included in Sec. 3,2 (2!~). L~ 1 Notice of Sale - One foot buffer strip - Lindig Stye®ts Car Wash - Police Departments 22I~2 Council was advised of sale by Arthur Lindig of a one foot buffer strip to Casper E. Hanson. Council Ras further advised that there is no sub-division of land or assessments involved. Discussion was held about making payment in advance for washing squad car. Application for Stone moved, seconded by Strandquist that the application Employment Volunteer for employment submitted by Daniel A. Treanor of 2315 Fire Department: North Victoria be granted upon condition that applicant is found to be in good health after a physical examinatirn and also subject to the six-month probation period. Carried. Variance Application Motion made by Stone, seconded by Nilsen that the 1868 North Arona - application for variance submitted by Mr. and Mrs, Fences Collin Alexander at 18b8 Arona for construction of a fence on the rear yard of their property be granted subje ct to the Planning Commission's recommendation. It is under- stood that this fence will be under six feet in hei ght and of a chain link type and in accordance with the dimensions indicated on the survey attached to appl ication. Motion carried.
