REGULAR MEETING OF JUNE 23, 1965
The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the following members
present: Mayor Nilsen, Clerk Strandquist, Trustees Warkentien, Stone and Black.
Also present were Engineer Lem'oerg, Attorney Galvin, Treasurer Olsen.
Stone moved, Black seconded that the minutes of the regular meeting of June 9
be approved. Carried.
Nilsen moved, Strandquist seconded that the minutes of the special meeting of
June 16 be approved. Carried.
Correspondence:
Roseville and Ice Letter from Village of Roseville was inquiry regarding
Cream Mobile any ordinances this Village has regarding mobile ice cream
Vendors: vendors. Ordinance 12, adopted fourteen years ago, covers
such vendors.
Licenses Renewed for It was moved by Strandquist, seconded by Stone and duly

Fire Department -
Fire Chief Helbig Pursuant to request at special meeting of June 16, Fire
and Herbert Chief Al Helbig and new employee Herbert Nelson were

Request to Purchase Stone moved, Warkentien seconded that the Fire Department
Foam Adapters be authorized to purchase a foam adapter for the fire
truck hone nozzle, at a cost not to exceed $85.00 with
the understanding that the $30.00 (which the Fire Ghief
turned over to the Village Council as payment for one of
the fire trucks standing by at the Fair Grounds June 12
and 13 for the Paul Bunyan Races and credited to the
general fund of the village) be used as part payment for
the adapter. Motion carried.
William Carroll William Carroll, weed inspector, was present to report that
Weed Inspector: notices had been sent regarding first cutting of noxious
weeds.
Opening of Bids
At 8s00 P.M. Mayor Nilsen called for bids. Clerk Strandquist
Street. and Alley and advised that proper legal notices had been published in the

Warkentien introduced the following resolution and moved
its adoption:
WHII~EAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the
improvement of streets and alleys by seal coating same, and
according to plans and specifications, bids were received,
opened. and tabulated according to law, and

WHEREAS, it appears that T. A. Schifsl~-and Sons are
the lowest responsible bidders,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTAs
1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to enter into a contract with T. A. Schifsky and
Sons in the name of the Village of Falcon Heights for the
street and alley and maintenance project of 1965 according
to plans and specifications therefor approved by the Village
Council and on file in the office of the Village Clerk.
2. The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with
their bids except that the deposits of the successful bidder
and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a
contract has been signed.
The motion was duly seconded by Nilsen and upon a vote
being taken, resolution was adopted by the Village Council
this 23rd day of June 1965.
Ramsey County Mr. Frank Paskewitz of the Ramsey County Historical
Historical Society: Society was present to request permission to place a
one-room school house on the grounds of the Society at
Larpenteur and Cleveland Avenues. For the variance form
necessary, Warkentien moved, Stone seconded that the fee
of X5.00 be waived. Motion carried.
Insurance Coverage Stone will inform Fire Department employees and volunteers
Fire Department that the Village must be informed. about any changes in car
Employees and insurance. Employees hired hereafter must show certificate
Volunteers: of insurance and copy of same is to be kept on file in
Clerks office.
Tornado - Salary for Stanley Schultz, Civil Defense Director, has returned
assisting: check received from the Village of Falcon Heights for six
hours duty during the tornadoes in May.
Desk colds Council approved of sale of used table (used as desk prior
to purchase of office desk) to deputy clerk for payment of
X1..00.
Gasoline filling Application for Gasoline Filling Station Operator's License
Station Licensees made by Shell Oil Station was tabled pending the owners
appearance at a special council meeting to be called for
Shell Oil Station: the purpose of discussing certain practices at said station.

Clerk was instructed to send registered letter to the
Standard Oil Company advising that license cannot be
Standard Oil granted for operating gasoline filling station until such

hereby designated as the engineers for this proposed improve-
ment. They shall prepare plans and specifications for this
proposed improvement.
Motion was seconded by Black and upon a vote being taken
thereon, resolution was adopted this 23rd day of June 1965.
