REGULAR MEETING OF AUGUST 11, 1965
The regular meeting was called to order with the following members presents
Mayor Nilsen, Clerk Strandquist Trustee Black. Also present was Attorney
Galvin. Absents Trustees Warkentien and Black, also Engineer Lemberg.
Mr. D. W.Thompson of the Minneapolis Star was present.
Minutes: Stone moved, Strandquist seconded that the minutes of
the July 1J~ meeting be approved. Ayes: All. Nayss None.
Motion carried.
Stone moved, Nilsen seconded that the minutes of the
July 28 meeting be approved. Ayes: All. Nays: None.
Lotion carried.
Nilsen moved, Stone seconded that the minutes of the
special meeting of August !~ be approved. Ayes: All.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
Licensees Strandquist moved, Stone seconded that the following licenses
to sell Non-Intoxicating Malt Liquors -On Sale, be issueda
Non-Intoxicating #79 William S. Breda - State Fair Grounds

Correspondences
Engineer Lembergts letter of August 11., 1965 stated that
Proposed Northeast meeting was held on Thursday, August 5 with Roseville
Area Storm Surer engineers and Ramsey County representatives regarding the
Improvement 65 is Proposed Northeast Storm Sewer Improvement 65-1.
Ramsey County Frank Paskewitz' letter of August 3, expressed appreciation
Historical on behalf of the Ramsey County Historical Society for the
Society: consideration given by the Council and the Planning
Commission to its request to place a one-room country
school house on the grounds.
Decals: Strandquist moved, Stone seconded that six more decals
be purchased at $8.60 apiece. Ayes: All. Nayss None.
Motion carried.
Squad Car Accident Strandquist introduced the following resolution and
July 15, 1965: moved its adoptions
{'AS, a claim of Angela and Arthur LaBeau against
the Village of Falcon Heights has been received, and
WHEREAS, said claim has been considered by the Council
of the Village of Falcon Heights,

NOWT, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The Village of Fal con Heights hereby
denies the claim of Angela and Arthur Labeau, and
2. Said claim shall be forwarded to the Mutual
Service Casualty Company.
The motion was seconded by Stone and upon a vote being
taken, the motion was carried.
Trees: Strandquist moved, Stone seconded that recommendations
made by tree consultant, Dr. Gus Hard, for work on the
following trees be authorized:
1758 No. Simpson remove dead tree on boulevard
1877 No. Holton prune tree on the north side of
driveway
17b5 No.Arona cable boulevard tree
1497 W. Cal-ifornia cable boulevard. tree
Upon a vote being taken, the following was recorded:

Village Tool Shed
Roofs Strandquist moved, Stone seconded that Kenneth Quarn
be authorized to re-roof the tool shed behind the
Village Hall. All ayes. Motion carried.
Application to Rezone
B. V. Marsehke Mr. and Mrs. B. V. Marschke were present, ~s was
1695 North Cleveland: their attorney, John Daubney. There was discussion
regarding application to rezone the property at
1b95 North Cleveland.
Issuance of Building Stone moved, Nilsen seconded that issuance of building
Permits - permits for Lot 5, Block 3, Lindig's 2nd Addition and
Lindig's Second also Lot ~, Block 3, Lindig's 2nd Addition be subject
Additions to determination by the Village Engineer of the grades
on drainage easement. Ayes: All. Nays: None.
Motion was carried.
Applications for the two building permits shall be
referred to the Village Engineer for review of
construction and for issuance of permit upon the
engineer's approval subject to engineer's setting
of grade on the drainage easement and requiring the
contractor, as part of the instructions, to conform
to such grades.
Building Permit Revie~r of present form of building permits and

changes were suggested.
Fire Ordinance It was moved by Stone, seconded by Strandquist and

An Ordinance Adopting a Fire Prevention Code Prescribing
Regulations Governing Conditions Hazardous to Life and
Property from Fire or Explosion and Repealing Ordinance
No. 61. Said. Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its approval as required by law.
Electrical Equipment Proposed t~rdinance from the St. Paul Electrical Board
-Suggested regarding electrical code for this village eras referred
Ordinances to Trustee Black for review.
Village Insurance Nilsen moved, seconded by Strandquist, that ~. A.
Policies: Mortenson, former Village Clerk, be requested to
review insurance coverage of the Village to determine
adequacy of same. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion
carried.
Surer Rates: Trustee Blackfs memorandum dated August 6 addressed to
each member of the council regarding meeting of August
5 with other municipalities about sewer rates, was
reviewed. Mayor Nilsen was authorized to direct
letter to Eugene V.Avery, chairman of the Technical.
Committee of the City of Saint Paul, requesting a
reply as to any action taken by that committee.
Bills Stone moved, Strandquist seconded that the following bills
be paid. Ayes: All. Nayss None. Motion was carried.
