Absents Trustee Stone. Also present were Engineer Lemberg, Treasurer Olsen and Attorney Galvin. For the League of Women Voters, Mrs. Bobbe Nolan was present. 1 1 Minutes: Black moved, seconded by Warkentien that the minutes of the regular meeting of October 27 be approved. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Correspondence St. Paul Jr. Notice of seminar on selected Metropolitan Problems being Chamber of presented by St. Paul Junion Chamber of Commerce on Commerce: November 13, 1965 at the Lowry Hotel, St. Pauli was read. League of Women The ladies of the League of Women Voters of Falcon Heights Voters: expressed thanks and appreciation to the council for establishing recreation program last summer. Licenses Christmas Tree Having met the requirements, Warkentien moved, seconded Lot: by Nilsen that Mark J. Goeb1 for the University of Minnesota Forestry Club be granted license to operate Christmas Tree Lot on the southwest corner of Larpenteur and Cleveland Avenues. Ayes. All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Cigarettes: Having met the requirements, Warkentien moved, seconded by Nilsen that Bonanza Sirloin Pit on the State Fair Grounds be granted license to sell at retail Cigarettes, Cigarette Wrappers. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Master Gas Having met the requirements, Warkentien moved, seconded by Installer: Strandquist that Cecil Lenz of Northwestern Heating, 232 Hampden Avenue, St. Paul be granted Master Gas Installer's License. Ayes: A11. Nays: None. Motion carried. Reservations for Request of Dale Bergstedt to reserve Village Ha11 for Village Hall meeting of the Fourth District Young Republicans Board of Directors an November 15 at 8:15 P.M. was granted, Also Young request of Dale Bergstedt to reserve village hall for Republicans: meeting of Local Young Republican Club (Falcon Heights, Lauderdale and Roseville) on November 16 at 8:00 P.M, was granted. ~ H Leaders: Request of Marion Sevcik of Ramsey County ~~ organization to reserve Village Hall on the afternoons of November 15 and 16 from 1:00 to 3:00 P,M. for meetings with ~~i leaders was granted. Tatum Street Agreement has been reached between Robert N. Beck and Drainage. P.4arjorie L. Beck and Eugene J. Kemmer and Lorraine M. Kemmer and the Village of Falcon Heights and license has been granted. License is for the purpose of constructing, 2313 maintaining and repairing a surface drainage area between the above parties' two homes at 1776 Tatum and 1768 Tatum, and signed copy of same is on file Tatum Street in the office of the Village Clerk. Drainage: Nilsen moved, seconded by Black that Lindquist Landscaping Company be hereby authorized to proceed with the work necessary in the construction of the drainage area betvreen 1776 and 1768 Tatum, in accordance with the village consulting engineer's plans and specifications and stakings, at a costtn the village of Falcon Heights not to exceed X250.00. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Consulting Engineer's letter of November 10 advised that the 1965 Street and Alley Maintenance Pro3ect including the grading work done on the Falcon Heights School skating 1965 Street and Alley rink, had been completed and inspected, It is the Maintenance Pro3ect: engineer's recommendation that the Council take necessary action to approve and accept the work and that final payment be made to the contractor, Strand- quist moved, seconded by Warkentien that contractor's estimate No. 2 and final in the amount of X542.00 be paid in accordance with the terms of the contract - to T, A. Schifsky and Sons, Inc. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion was carried. Insurance After discussion, it was agreed that invitations to bid on comprehensive auto liability insurance on the two fire trucks should show the value of each truck at $1.7,500 and equipment on each truck valued at X7,500. Annual Village Warkentien moved, seconded by Nilsen that the following Elections be appointed election 3udges for the Annual Village Election to be held on December 7, 1965. Polling places Wi11 be open from 12:00 N to 8:00 P,M. Motion carried. Nils en moved, seconded by Strandquist that Attorney Gal vin and Engineer Lemberg be authorized to draft a letter that can be forwarded to Jorgenson citing violations of village ordinances that have occurred. Police Commissioner It was stated that Donald Arndt, Police Commissioner, has Hospitalizeds been hospitalized and. underwent surgery on Tuesday, November 9th. Street Sweepings Engineer advised that Mike McPhillips has naw completed satisfactorily the job of sweeping the village streets. 1965 Supplement Nilsen moved that Village Clerk be authorized to purchase Handbook for six copies of the Supplement to the Handbook for Minnesota Minnesota Villages: Villages offered by the League of Minnesota Municipalities at a cost of $1.50 each. Seconded by Warkentien. Motion carried. Fire Department: Stanley Schultz, full time fire fighter, was present and discussion was held regarding operation of fire d epartment. Bilk s Strandquist moved, seconded by Warkentien that the following bills be paid. Motion was carried.
