REGULAR rdEETING OF DECEMBER 8, 1965
The regular meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M, with the following
members present: Mayor Nilsen, Clerk Strandquist and Trustees Black and
Stone. Absents Willis Warkentien. Also present were Treasurer Olsen,
Attorney Galvin and Engineer Brad Lemberg.
Burt Arvilla of the Suburban Life Newspapers was present.
Minutes: Stone moved, seconded by Black that the minutes of the
meeting of November 2l~, 1965 be approved. Motion carried.
Correspondences
Cleveland- Dudley Letter of November 29 from Consulting Engineer Lemberg
Water Mains regarding possible connections to the new line installed by
the Village of Falcon Heights in 1963 advised that no
connections had been or would be allowed by the St. Paul
Water Department without approval of the Village of Falcon
Heights.
Northern States Letter from Northern States Power Company advised of lower.
Pager Company: gas rates to consumers in Falcon Heights.
Dr. Farkas Report Report from Dr. John Farkas dated November 29 was regarding
on Owen Harmers Officer Harmer': physical condition subsequent to accident
of July 15, 1965.
County Assessors Ronald Powers, County Assessor, under date of December lst
invited assessors and presidin officers to attend instruction

. Council was advised that
William P. Carroll will attend same for the Village of
Falcon Heights.
Donald Arndt Donald Arndt, Police Commissioner, was present to report
Police Commissioners on activities of the Police Department. Notes are on file
in the Village Clerk's Office files.
Recreations
Falcon Woods The Falcon Woods Playground Association has regrtested
Playground Council consideration to improving the recreation area by
Associations building a block warming house and making other improvements.
Skating Rink After discussion, it was deemed advisable that the following
Hours: schedule be observed at the skating rinks at Idaho-Snelling
and the one at the Falcon Heights Elementary School:
Monday through Thursday 4:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
Friday Lts30 P.M, to 10:00 P.M.
Saturday 9s30 A.M, to 10:00 P.M.
Sunday 1s00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
Saturday hours will prevail during Christmas vacation,
except that rinks shall open on Sunday at 1:00 P.M.
Rinks will close at 6:00 P.M. on Christmas Eve, but will
be open until 10:00 P.M. on New Year's Eve.

Engineer's Report: Lemberg advised that Otto Bonestroo had attended the
meeting regarding sewer rate structure that was held
Sewer rates: this day, A. report on the meeting will. bs made to the
Council.
Building cods: The Uniform Building Code is being studied by Building
Inspector Magnuson and Engineer Lemberg.
Attorney's Reports Galvin advised that condemnation proceedings have been
commenced by the University of Minnesota on the Killmer
and Jansen Properties. The Village of Falcon Heights has
been named as a party.
