Goldberg, Secretary Lindig Addition #3; of the Plat Commission of Ramsey County submitted print of proposed platting of Lindig Addition No. 3 and requested council to advise as to action taken by it. Municipal B1aek introduced the following resolution and moved State Aid Street`- its adoptions Designation ;= Proposeds - WHEREAS, it appears to the Village Council of the Village of Falcon Heights thatThe street hereinafter described should be designated a Municipal State Aid Street under the provisions of Minnesota Laws of 1959, Chapter 500; NOS, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of Falcon Heights of the County of Ramsey that the road described as follows, to-wit: Albert Avenue from Idaho to Larpenteur be, and hereby is established, located, and designated a Municipal State Aid Street of said village of said county, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Highways of the state of Minnesota. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to fox~rard tWO certi- ~~~ fied copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of ~o High:ays for his consideration and that upon his ~~,'~ ~~Q approval of the designation of said road or portion 2386 thereof, that same be constructed, improved and maintained as a Municipal State Street of the Village of Falcon Heights, to be numbered and known as Munic- ipal State Aid .Street 105. ADOPTED Jvne 22nd, 1966 Stone seconded the motion and upon a vote being taken, the following voted in favor of lames Strandquist, Black and Stone and the following voted against same: None. Whereupon resolution was declared adopted. Railroad and Copy of Change in Route-Order Before the Railroad and Warehouse Warehouse Commission in the Matter of the Change in Commission: Route 11~lrkwright-So. St. Paul operated by the St. Paul Transit Company was read. PUBLIC HEARING On Vacation of the At 8x00 P.M. the regular meeting was adjourn®d for the :.`Ruggles Street Public Hearing scheduled to hear all persons present Walkway Between upon a petition for the vacation of the Ruggles Street :Pascal and Holton- Walkway. Continued to July 6, 1966 Stone introduced the following resolution and moved its adoptions WHEREAS a resolution of the Village Council adopted the 25th day of May 1966 fixed a date for a council hearing on the petition of the abutting property owners for the vacation of the Ruggles Street Walkway betgreen Pascal and Holton Avenues, and WHEREAS, ten days published notice of the hearing through weekly publication of the required notice was given, and 1IfHEREAS, on June 8, 1966 upon request of the Attorney for the petitioners, the Village Council agreed to continue said hearing from June 22nd to July 6, 1966, NCA~I, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the Council of the Village of Falcon Heights that public Hearing is continued until July 6, 1966 at 8s00 P.M. in the Village Hall, 16l~4 West Larpenteur Avenue. Motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Strandquist and upon a vote being taken the vote was recorded as follows Ayes: All. Nays: Noes. Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted. iil~II ~J Child Safety Copy of letter to Mr. Hall of Harper Industries dated Signs: June 1!~ and signed by Police Officer stated that this Village will erreet Child Safety Signs around the schools, parks and iRherever they are needed. Hamline Avenue Mrs. Evelyn Dilger, 1811 Hamline Avenue, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Water Mains Walter, 1821 Hamline Avenue and James Danielson, 1835 Hemline Avenue were present regarding obtaining water on Hemline Avenue. Engineer Lemberg's letter~of June 22 2387 gave the cost estimate on extending water and detailed breakdown as requested at the Council meeting on June 8. Said estimate was for extension between Garden and Ruggles utilizing a route along the east property line of the school. It stated the average front foot assessment for this area would be approximately X7.9.22 which is about X670 more than hooking onto Roseville water as Was pre- viously suggested. After discussion about various ways and means to obtain water (at least temporarily) for the house at 1811 Hemline, it was agreed that Black, 'J~arkentien and Strandquist would meet with Mr. Peahen on Monday to discuss a connection from his well at 1807 Hemline Avenue. Donald Arndt, Police Police Commissioner Donald Arndt was present and made Commissioners- a regular report of police department activities. Art Lindig - Black introduced .the following resolution and moved Proposed Platting of its adoption: Lindig Addtion- Subdivisions WHEREAS, Arthur Lindig is the owner of certain real estate located in the Village of Falcon Heights and WHEREAS, said owner has submitted to the Village Council plans and data pursuant to Ordinance No. 69 of the Village of Falcon Heights for a proposed plan for the proposed division of an existing lot by metes and bounds description of that real estate, and 1NHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Falcon Heights and the Village Engineers have re- viewed the plans and data as submitted and conclude that said plans and data meet the objectives of the ordinances and regulations of the Village and WHEREAS, it is necessary that said plans and data, be referred to the Planning Commission of the Village of Falcon Heights for their study, consid- eration and recommendations, NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF Falcon Heights that: 1. The proposed plans and data for said proposed division of an existing lot by metes and bounds des- cription is hera~by given preliminary approval by the Village Council, and 2. Said proposed plans and data for said proposed division of an existing lot are hereby referred to the Village Planning Commission for its study, re- view and recommendations to the Village Council as soon: as practical. 1 1 1 The motion was duly seconded by Strandquist and upon a vote being taken, the following was recorded: r 1 2388 Ayes: A11. Eugene Avery- Letter from Eugene Avery, Chief Engineer, City of St. Paul City St. Paul was in answer to Attorney Calvin's letter Engineer-Sanitary of June 7 regarding sewer charges, It stated, in part, Sewer Charges: that every effort will be made to accomplish drafting of communication to affected suburbs before July 1st in accordance with position set forth in C.alvin~s letter. Proposal of N.S.P. Black introduced the following resolution and moved its Company-Street adoption: Lighting Contract: RESOLVID that the Village Council of the Village of Falcon Heights, Ramsey County, Minnesota, hereby accepts the proposal of the Northern States Power Company, a Minnesota corporation, to furnish street lighting service with all lights located or to be located in said village, and hereby approves all rates, terms, conditions, and specifications in the Street Lighting Contract made a part of the proposal of said company, and the proper officers of the Village are hereby authorized and directed to execute the aforesaid contract for and in the name of the Village, and to affix the corporate seal thereto. Adopted by the Council June 22, 1966. 1 1 Black seconded the motion and upon a vote being taken, the resolution was adopted. Falcon Woods Peter McGough of the Falcon Woods Recreation Association Requests Walkway was present to request that council consider its request to Recreation Areas to place a walk way on Roselawn Avenue for the use of pedestrians on their way to the recreation area. This was referred to Attorney for study. Northome Shopping After discussion, Black moved, 5trandquist seconded that Areas the Village Attorney be authorized to direct communication to the owners of the property known as Northome Shopping Area located on the southeast corner of Larpenteur and Snelling, pointing out that there is an apparent continu- ing violation of Village Ordinances as far as zoning purposes and parking matters are concerned. This viola- tion occurs at the rear of the buildings. Communication shall request owners to appear at the next council meet- ing in reference thereto. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted in favor of same: All and. the followring voted against the sames None, whereupon the motion was declared passed and adopted.
