REGULAR MEETING OF JANUARY 2~, 1967
The regular meeting was called to order at 7s00 P.M. with the following
members present: Mayor Nilsen, Clerk Strandquist, Councilmen ti~arkentien, Stone
and Black. Also Present was Engineer Lemberg. Absents Treasurer Olsen and
Attorney Kyle.
Minutes: Black moved, seconded by Stone that minutes of the meeting of
December l.t~, 1966 be approved. Motion was carried.
Stone moved, seconded by Black that minutes of the meeting of
January 11, 1967 be approved. Motion was carried.

Northern States Letter dated January ~, 1967 from E.V. Bergstrom, Supervisor
Power Company: of Municipal Services of NSP enclosed a list of street light
conversions made in the Village of Falcon Heights.
Minnesota Safety Letters of December 28, 1966 and January 20, 1967 from the
Councils Minnesota Safety Council, Inc. were read.
Minn. Department Letter of January 23, 1967 from Attorney Kyle enclosed
_ ~ of Highways - proposed agreement between the Highway Department and the

village will dig to said sewer service to determine if trouble

Law Enforcement In view of the fact that on January 23, 1967, the Ramsey County
Agreement with Board of Cormnissioners approved the Law Enforcement Agreement
Ramsey County with Falcon Heights and Ramsey County Deputy Sheriff Dept.,
Deputy Sheriff: subject to approval of County Attorney and County Auditor,
Warkentien moved, seconded by Stone that said agreement be
enforced beginning at 12:01 a. m. February 1, 1967. Clerk
shall direct communication to George Weber, Chief Deputy of
Ramsey County Sheriff Dept. advising said department of this
action. Ayess All. Nays: None. Motion was carried.

Nilsen moved, seconded by Warkentien that each of the three
police officers who will no longer be in the employ of this
Village after February 1st, 1967 be paid an amount of separa~a:ax
pay which shall be equal to one half months salary. Ayes:
All. Nayss None. Motion was carried.
Nilsen moved, seconded by Black that the Village pay t he
cost of hospitalization insurance for the three police officers
through February 1967. Ayess All. Nayss None. Carried.

Larpenteur Arona Floyd Snyker, Asst. County Engineer, was present and review
Signal Changes - of plans and agreement was made. Said plans and agreement
Larpenteur & concern Larpenteur Arona Signal Changes. Lemberg and Atty.
Arona Street: Kyle were requested to review said plans and agreement,
Floyd Snyker, which were submitted by Snyker, and report to Council.
Asst. County
Engineer: After discussion, council agreed that Lemberg should check
with the State Highway Department about possibility of
Right turns only allowing only right turns onto Snelling Avenue when going
Maple Knoll and east on rllaple Knoll Drive and also allowing only right
Garden Avenuess turns onto Snelling Ave. when going west on Garden Avenue.
Reereati.ont Warkentien stated that the skating lessons Mrs. Aamodt is
conducting are coming along well and that about 65 children
attend. Tape recorder, which is being used. during lessons,
needs repairs or a new one should be purchased.
Front End Loaders Lemberg was requested by the council to check on sizes and
costs of a front end loader.
