Regular T.Ieeting of Apra.. 27, 1967
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.I. v;ith the following members
present: Trlayor T~Iilsen, Clerlc Strandquist, Councilmen ~Yarlcentien, Black and
Stone. ,Also present were Treasurer Olsen and Attorney Kyle.
T~Zinutes: Stone moved, seconded by Black that the minutes of the
meeting of April 13, 1967. be approved as submitted. Ayes:
All. Nays:.,. None. Llotion was carried.
Correspondence; 1Y. R. UtAcht's letter under date of April 21, 1967 stated
that Crovrn Oil Company was responsible for a sizeable
Oil spilled quantity of oil that'svas permitted to flow into the alley.
in alley behind Clerk vras instructed to send copy ,of letter to Crown Oil

Larpenteurs and maintenance department have been instructed to
accomplish the necessar~r repairs to the alley behind

Driveway at Paul C. Thomas, Attorney for h3r. and:'1!'Yrs Jack Ziegler,
1386 Vlest 1386 ~~test Idaho, stated in his letter of April 20 that a
Idaho: portion of the drivevray at the above address has gone to
pieces since Vic Loeffler, T.'Iinneapolis installed same.
Thomas is having difficulty in getting same repaired by
installer and inquired as to bond requirements in this
Village. Clerk was instructed to wrrite Loeffler advising
he was in violation of ordinance.. in not obtaining building
permit and that complaint is being issued.

Ramsey County Letter from C. TyI. Christianson, 1291 Fifield was in regard

Overhead Door in During fire drill on April 25, one overhead door facing
Fire Department Larpenteur Avenue was-extensively damaged vrhen fire truck
Damaged; was erroneously put in reverse gear. The following three
proposals were submitted and reviewed by the Council:

1'~Ioved by Stone, seconded by Black that inasmuch as the
present door is a product of the Overhead Door Company,
the Council authorize purchase from Overhead Door Company,
3100 N. E. California St., T~Iinneapolis a.t a cost of 3267.00
which does not include,-the automatic opening device.. Ayes:

Teamsters Union A conference among the Village Council members and the
Negotiations: employees of the village, represented. by Joseph Prifrel
of the Teamsters Local No. 11~9,had been scheduled for
this evening: Af-~er discussion, Nilsen moved that tYie
Village Council make the following offer regarding
ihcreases in salaries:

For lack of a second to the motions motion failed..
Stone moved, seconded by Blacl: that the Council make the
following offer regarding. increases in salaries:

Gv no time-and-one-half-for swing shifts or overtime, as
regards the fire department employees. The follo~ring

against _same: None. 1Fdhereupon the motion was declared
duly passed.
_~~ It is understood that the maintenance department employee
~" ~- ~1 shall receive compensatory time off for overtime except
~ ~~ ^^ in cases of emergency when he shall rece~.ve time-and-one-
~,\ half for overtime worked. Emergency work~to be done only
(~ when specifically requested by village official.
~ The employees agreed to accept said offer and Prifrel
will draw contract for same.
Idaho-Snelling T~Ioved by tiYarkentien, seconded by Black that the village
Playground council authorize purchase of a back stop from the
Back Stop: Crotivley Fence Company at a cost not to exceed X390.00
installed. Further moved that arrangements be made to
remove the poles that hinder baseball play. Ayes: A11.
Nays: None. ~Zotion was carried.

Variance Request Black moved, seconded by Stone that the Variance Request
Donald W. Mead submitted to the Council by Donald tit. Mead, who-plans to
Klan 's build. a house on the northwest corner of intersection of
Addition No. 2: Sheldon and Ruggles, be referred to the Planning Commission
for its review and recommendation. Further, that said
variance be considered favorably only if the side yard
set back will be equal to the present set back of homes on
Albert and Ruggles, Ayes: A11. Nays: None. Motion
was carried.
Letter regarding Council reviewed draft of letter to be sent to citizens
Law Enforcement of this village y~hich is entitled 'Law Enforcement
Services: Services in Falcon Heights'. and instructed Clerk to
handle printing and mailing of same.
Survey of lighting Warkentien moved, seconded by Stone that the village
of Village Hall council request Northern States Power Company to make
Parking Lots recommendation as to village parking lot lighting situation
and to determine feasibility of placing additional lights
on same and approximate cost. Ayes: All. Nays: None.
Motion was carried.
1Yater Cooler Stone moved, seconded by Strandquist that inquiries be
for Village Hall: made to determine cost of purchasing water cooler for
the Village Hall. Ayes: AII. Nays: None. Motion was
carried.
Bills: Nilsen moved, seconded by Strandquist and carried that
the following bills be paid.
