2653 REGUTAR MEETING OF DECEMBER 28, 1967 The regular meeting was called to order at 7x00 P.M. with the following Councilmen Black, Stone Clerk Strandquist Nilsen Ma t m yo s embers presen , , r and Warkentien.. Also present was Treasurer Olsen. DQ3.nutess Black moved, seconded by Strandquist that the minutes of the special meeting of November 28, 1967 be approved. Ayers All. Nays: None. .Motion was carried. Stone moved, seconded by Black that minutes of the Canvassing Board meeting held December 7, 1967 be approved. Ayers All. Nayss .None. Motion was carried. Stone moved, seconded by Warkentien that the minutes of the regular meeting of December 14, 1967 be approved. Ayers All. Nayss None. Motion was carried. Correspondencm H. J. Dachtera Letter dated December 26, 1967 from Henry J. Dachtera fted.Cross requested permission to use Village Hall for training Instructions a Para-rescue team to become Red Cross Instructors. Dates are Saturday January 6, 1968 from 1x00 P.M. to l~s00 P.M., Monday January 8 from 7x30 P.M. to 1Os30 P.M., . Saturday January 13 from 1x00 P.M. to 1ts00 P.M., and Monday Jan nary 15 from 7s30 P.M. to 10:30 P.M. Strandquist moved, seconded by Nilsen that permission be granted as requested. Ayers A11. Goodlake, 1511 West Idaho, addressed 1511 West Idaho communication advising council that his property was - Damage to damaged from village construction work completed this property by fa11 by Dunkley Surfacing Company. Black mowed, seconded. Dunkley Surfacing by Warkentien that copy of his letter be foruQarded to Companys -~ Dunkley Surfacing Company with the request that they _ ~~ _ 7 contact Rev. Black moved, seconded by - Strandquist that Village Hall be reserved for this purpose. Ayers All. Nayss None. Motion was carried. Street Light Letter from Sherman L. Goldberg, Public Works Director Roselawn and Pillage of Roseville., advised that Roseville Council had Snelling Avenuess approved the installation of the street light_at the intersection of Snelling and Roselawn Avenues. Council had further agreed to participate for a share cost arrangement with Village of Falcon Heights for this light. James Mc~or® Letter from Attorney Ryle dated December 20, 1967 and `~ Snow Plower - ~ Memorandum of Insurance furnished by James Moore, who has Insurances been contracted for snow plowing services of rinks, etc., were reviewed. Black moved, seconded by Nilsen that 265i~ James Moore be advised that a Certificate of Insurance r~aming_the Village of Falcon Heights as an insured must. be obtained by him. Such certificate should contain a ten day cancellation' clause. Such certificate of insurance should further indicate bodily injury and liability policy limits of not less than X100,000/ ~100~000/~200,000. Ayes; All. Nays: None. Motion was carried. Minnesota Safety Clerk read letter of December 15, 1967 from the Minn. Council Inc. Safety Council,., Inc. regarding Annual Traffic Safety Activity Report (Traffic Engineering Information). National Highway Clerk read letter from Governor Harold Leander dated Safety Acts December 26, 1967 regarding implementation of the National Highway Safety Act. Ben Griebenow Driveway Letter of December 15, 1967 from Engineer Lemberg was Access Permit from regarding State Highway Department permit for driveway Highway Departments access to the residence of Ben Griebenow, 1775 North . Snelling Avenue. ..Sewer Trouble Ben Griebenow, 1775 North Snelling Avenue, has referred 1775 North Snelling: bill for services from W. L. Neihart Plumbing for $198.95 for repairing sewer, to .village council. Black moved, seconded by Strandquist that matter be -tabled until next meeting of council. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion was carried. luster Gas Installer Having met the requirements, it was moved by Strandquist, License: seconded by ffiack that the application for Master Gas Installers License for Robert Petersen dba Twin City Furnace Company, 159 North Snelling Avenue, be approved. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion was carried. Justice of the Peace Strandquist moved, seconded by Stone that the Village Bond Approved: Council approve the U. S. Fidelity and Guaranty Company bond covering Justice of the Peace William P. Carroll. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion was carried. Attorney was instructed to file copy of bond with the Clerk of District Court and also the Secretary of State. r Purchase Requisition - Purchase Requisition dated December 27, 1967 was reviewed. Rubber Hose Same is for purchasing 350, l~ or 2~- rubber hose with Recreation DepartmentE: fire hose thread on couplings tp fit fit. Paul thread on hydrant couplings and to fit fire engine spray nozzle and was submitted by Kenneth Quarn for use in flooding skating rinks. Recreation 1967 Black moved, seconded by I~farkentien that the Village Permanent Improvement Council authorize the Village Treasurer to invest in Funds Investments U. S. Government Obligations or its agencies the present unexpended amount. of X2,610.00 in the 1967 General Fund Account entitled Recreation -Permanent Improvements. Ayes= Ailsen~ Strandquist, Black, Stone and Waz'kentien. Nays: None. Motion was carried. -- 265, Gas Frank Eha, gas inspector, inquired as to permits for Installations= gas installation being issued to home-owners wishing to _ do their own work. He stated that St. Paul has circulated a memorandum stating. that it is permissible if permit is obtained and inspection is made and everything meets standards. Village Councilmen agreed that Falcon Heights Ordinance No. 23 should be adhered to and only licen,~sed Master Gas Installers be issued permits. Nilsen. is of the opinion that a letter should be Cleveland Avenue= written to the Board of Regents of the University stating that sewer is available from the property at 2061 West Larpenteur Avenue and if University contemplates installer sewer facilities on Cleveland Avenue, it would appear the, " hooking onto the Falcon Heights sewer lin® would be j feasible.
