Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Willis titi~arkentien, Trustee and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank N. Graham, Attorney; Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer; Nick Christensen, Building Inspector and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. Absent: Paul L. Coppini, Trustee. Lindig- Mayor Nilsen called the attorneys for Lindig, Spiegler and the group Spiegler. petitioning for rezoning to the front and explained that due to the illness of Howard Dahlgren, representative of Carl Gardner & Assoc- iates, the firm that had been engaged to make a study of the matter at hand, reports from the planners were not available until tonight. The Planning Commission and the Council needed time to study the reports and Nilsen suggested that the Hearing be continued next Thursday, May 14th, at 7:00 P. R4. The Attorneys agreed. Nilsen then advised the Public of the circumstances. They also indicated agreement. Nilsen then moved that the Hearing be continued until Thursday, tMay 14, at 7:00 P. M. Seconded by Utecht and carried. Minutes The Minutes of the Special Meeting of April 14th were approved as sub- mitted. Also Boonson's reply advising that a driveway will be constructed at this location and a modified opening will be made in the median strip to provide for emergency vehicles. U. S. Treasury Bills due January 15th, 19b0, for which they acknowledged payment and enclosed a receipted statement. Treasurer Olsen advised he had received the receipt from the First National Bank covering these bonds. Squad Car Copy of Attorney Graham's letter of April 24th to the Rose Tribune was Bids read. It advised he was enclosing copy of Advertisement for Bids for Police Car and requested that it be published in the Rose Tribune April 30th and achy 7th. Squad Car Copy of Attorney Graham's letter to dir. Raymond J. Nelson, 21b1 Accident Eleanor, St. Paul, 16, Minnesota was read. It stated the Village of Falcon Heights was making demand upon ~Mr. Nelson in the-sum of X177.90 covering the following items: Installation of radio in substitute squad car X3.00; Repair of Officer Dachtera's uniform trousers, owned by the Village, X8.50; Use of Officer Jerome Johnson's car as squad car while squad car was being repaired 9~116.t~0 and X50.00 paid under the X50.00 deductible insurance policy. Graham also advised he was sending a copy of his letter directly to the Ohio Cas. Ins. Co. 1210 Graham advised the Council he had talked to the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company who stated they were negotiating with Dachtera toward a settlement of his personal in,~ury claim, after which they would go into~the matter of the ~17?.90 property damage claim. I~iayor Nilsen said he had seen Roseville's Minutes regarding this matter and that they did include the "No Charge" clause and the Deputy Clerk was instructed to call George Keene, Roseville's Clerk, arx] ask for confirmation in writing. Stationery It was moved by Warkentien, seconded by Nilsen and tuzanimously voted to authorize the Deputy Clerk to order 2500 letter-heads for the Clerk's Office. Curfew Attorney Graham's letter of April 28th, regarding the curfew ordinance Ordinance was read, It pointed out that the proposed ordinance raises the age of a minor from 16 to 18 years, and makes the curfew ordinance apply between the hours of 10 P. M. and 5 A. M. the following day through- out the year. Our present ordinance #42 runs from 9 P. M. to 5 A. M, from October to the end of raiarch and from 10 P. b4. to 5 A. I~~. from A?~ril through September. Graham suggested Section 6 and Section 7 of Ordinance 42 should be added to the proposed ordinance so that any fines against parents or others violating the ordinance will come to the Village. Nilsen expressed his opinion that the sub- urban villages. should work toward conformation with St. Paul. The matter was turned back to V'Jarkentien for further study. Census Letter of May ltth from the Metropolitan Planning Commission re- questing that the Village send a representative to their meeting re- garding census taking procedure to be held May 1~th, at It P. M., in the Midway Griggs Bldg., was read. The letter was referred to Shavor who will attend if possible. If for any reason Shavor cannot attend, Mrs. White will be asked to go.
