The Special Meeting of August 10th, 1959, was called to order at 7:10 P. M., the
following Council Members being present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor,
Trustee; Willis Warkentien, Trustee and Paul Coppini, Trustee. Also present were
Vern L. Ljungren, Village Engineer and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy
Treasurer. Absent: Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk and Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer.
The Minutes of the regular meeting of July 23rd were approved as submitted.
The Minutes of the Special Meeting of August 5th were approved as submitted.
Bids Water Mayor Nilsen read the Advertisement for Bids as published in
Main the Rose Tribune July 30th and August 6th, 1959. Letter of
August 6th from the State of Minnesota Department of Health
was read, also report of august 6th. They did not a~nrove the
Booster Pumping Station. Ljungren advised that they insist
upon the pump being above ground. Nilsen explained that rather
than throw out the bids, we would consider them on the basis of
the low bid for the water main extension and then readvertise for
bids for an-above ground pumping station. He asked the bidders
present if th at would be satisfactory, and they indicated that
it would be satisfactory.

Nilsen moved that the bids be referred to the Village Engineer for
checking and report to the Council at 5:00 P. M., Tuesday, August
11, 1959. Seconded by Shavor and carried unanimously.
Ljungren will contact the State Board of Health in an effort to get
one of their men to come over and. make a Field Inspection August 11th.
Sign Car Wash After discussion, it was moved by Coppini, seconded by Warkentien and
unanimously voted that the application for permit for sign to be
erected on the roof of the car wash building be approved,
