SPECIAL HEARING WATER MAIN SEPTEMBER 21st, 1959.
~.4eeting was called to order at 7:10 P. M,, the following Council Members being.
present: Harold. C. Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Willis Warkentien,
Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank
N. Graham, Village Attorney; Wm, E. Olsen, Treasurer; Vernon Ljungren, Village
Engineer; Nick Christensen, Building Inspector and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk.
Fry St. There were about 15 people from Fry Street present. Also Melvin
Water Pdain Spiegler, the Senior Mr. Spiegler and Attorney Tilsen. However,
Mr. Korstad, Chairman of the Maple Knoll Group was not present.
Upon being telephoned, Itgr. Korstad advised he hadn't had time to
contact all the people in Maple Knoll. Utecht moved that the
Hearing be continued until September 28th at 7:30 P. M. Seconded
b3' Nilsen and unanimously carried.
Water rain P.4r, Emil Anderson appeared before the Council regarding getting
Fairview water up to their lot. He was advised the corner lot, facing
Larpenteur on Fairview, would be assessed full width on Larpen-
teur and only 20~ of the depth up Fairview. Anderson's property
starts about 320' north of Larpenteur, which would mean they
would have to run the main up about 350' to reach the middle of
his lot. Ljungren estimated this would cost about 41815.00, T,~ir.
Anderson was advised the best way to proceed would be for him to
have a legal petition written up and take it to the residents
and land owners on Fairview.- 35<~ of the property owners would. be
sufficient for the Council to calla Hearing.
Hanson Lax Attorney Claybourn was in discussing the progress of the Hanson
Suit law suit which is being tried. He discussed the matter at length
with various members of the Council and indicated he will notify
Christensen, Ljungren, Nilsen and Shavor when they will be
needed in Court as witnesses.
Pumping Sta- Engineer Ljungren has not been able to obtain a suitable location
tion, for the pumping station. The matter was referred to Attorney
Graham xtio will contact the State Board of Health and the State
Fair Board as well as advising on whether the Village can over-
come deed restrictions on -the area back of Lido's and the Car
Wash so as to find a location.
