Gardner & Associates, Thorshov & Cerny, Leo Qhman and George Croft of the Planning Commission, Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; l~fi~lis 'urarke ~6tien, Trustee; Paul Conbini, Trustee; and ~,hrm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney; ~~~m. E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Ethel E. Vu`hite, Deputy Clerk & Deputy Treasurer. Dahlgren and Gustafson displayed maps showing suggested planning provided the University of "Minnesota could be persuaded to release 9 acres of University Property bordering on Larpenteur, Cleveland and. Snelling for 9 acres of less valuable land in off the main thoro~..ghfares. Inasmuch as so much hinges on the University's future plans, r:Tayor Nilsen will work with Attorney Graham and Howard Dahlgren in an effort to set a meeting between representatives of the Planning Commission, t?~e Council and the planners of the University of ":Rinnesota. x.4r. Schmelz outlined plans for the building they propose to construct provided the rezoning they have requested is granted. Dahlgren sa.sd Sch~elz' building wouldn't conform to the plans they have in mind provided the University agrees to relinquish its holdings abutting the main thoroughfares.
