Nilsen, l~,~ayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee; Willis Warkentien, Trustee and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Brad Lemberg, Engineer; Wm, E. Olsen, Treasurer and. Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. ~llinutes The Minutes of the meeting of September 22nd were approved as submitted. Engineer's Brad Lemberg advised that the State Highway Department antici- Report pates starting the work at the Snelling-Larpenteur Intersection in about two years. He will write the City of St. Paul about Hoyt A~zenue and Blomberg's corner. They are working with the County to get a culvert on Tatum at Larpenteur. He had checked with the Engineering Department of the St. Paul Water Depart- ment and couldn't find anyone who knew anything about the arrangement''a ~a'1, Water Department Employee and owners at 1900 and 1892 Arona. He will check further. He will have the City of St. Paul check the water pressure at Anderson's on Fairview. Watermain Utecht moved that Change Order No. 1 for the Rivard Construction Improvement Company, dated October 11th, 1960 be ann_roved. Seconded by 1960; #l. Coppini and unanimously carried. Utecht moved that Contractor's Estimate No. 2 for the Rivard Excavating Company for work done on the Watermain Improvement 1960, No. 1, be approved at a figure of X5979.99. Seconded by Coppini and unanimously carried. Adding Warkentien moved that the Deputy Clerk bE authorized to Machine purchase the "National" Adding ~.Rachine now on trial from Dorrell Office Machines Company, 93 So. 11th St., Minneapolis 3, Minnesota at a cost of X165.00 less allowance for trade-in of old adder of 9k35.00, making the net expenditure X130.00. Seconded by Shavor and carried. Budget 1961 On motion by Utecht, seconded by Shavor, the following reso- lution was adopted by an unanimous vote, with request that the Clerk certify same to the County Auditor; General Fund $70,927.811 Firemen's Relief 1,500.00 PERA_ 2,166.56 Planning The Deputy Clerk was instructed to write Dahlgren advising we would like to set up a special meeting before the 27th of October, but do not want it to conflict with our regular meeting. Salaries The Deputy Clerk was instructed to write the Fire Chief and the Police Chief enclosing copies of their 1961 budgets and advis- ing them tha} each of the full-time men have received a raise of 325.00 per month effective January 1st, 1961, and. asking that they advise their men accordingly. 1517 Median Strip Mr. Steinworth was in to inquire about the possibility Driveway of having the median strip removed from Larpenteur Avenue Spiegler Apts to permit safer access to the parking lot at the rear of the Falcon Arms Apartments. Mayor Nilsen advised him that the Council realized the seriousness of the situation and that negotiations were under way. Lemberg advised that, later, Dr. Sbano decided the 1" service would be adequate for his use, and the 1-1/2" line was not put in. Falcon Woods Utecht moved that Gage Construction Company's Check #19l~1, in No. 2. the amount of X6251.50, made out to the Village of Falcon Heights be endorsed. to Otto Bonestroo & Associates inasmuch as the Village is not responsible for this bill, and the check should have been made out to Bonestroo in the beginning.
