The T:Iinutes of the regular meeting of January 26th were approved as submitted.
Police Car Police Commissioner Don Arndt was present. Arndt will get
prices on marking the doors "Falcon Heights Police"' in reflector-
ized paint.

Intersection 3onestroo's report on their February 2nd meeting with the Highway
Larpenteur P~ Department was read and filed. Copies were sent to Jos. Stein-
Snelling worth, President of the ?usiness wen's Club, Howard Dahlgren,
Planning Consultant and Mr. C~odward, Engineer representing
Douglas Rees.
Tree Spraying L. E. Fournier of the Foi.zrnier Tree Service was present. He
advised they were having very good success with the dormant oil
spray for scale insects; that St. Paul is asking for bids on
spraying the trees in St. Anthony Park. He was asked to advise
the Village Office if he got the contract for spraying the St.
Anthony Park trees. Fournier is to advise the cost of spraying
the trees in University Grove and what other spraying, if any,
the budget will Hermit.
`~unicipal After discussion, Shavor moved adoption of the following resolution:
State Aid
Streets "BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to statutory authority, the Village
Engineer for and on behalf of the Village of falcon Heights is
hereby authorized to request and obtain from the Minnesota Dep art-
ment of Highways, needed engineering and technical services during
the year of 1961; for which payment will be made by the Village
upon recei^t of verified claims from the Commissioner of Highways."
Seconded by Coppini and. unanimously carried.
Requisition It vras moved by Coppini, seconded by Nilsen and unanimously
X172 carried that requisition X172 for supplies needed by the Fire
Department be approved.
Village Hall, P.4ortenson moved that the Council accept the proposal of Clarence
Office Rekstad for the modernization of the Clerk's Office, including the
'_~lodernization paneling of the South and East l`~i=~11s with ryeldw god Charter Birch,
and the building of the desk counters as per our sketch, at a total
cost of X850.00. Seconded by Shavor and unanimously carried.
Planning r;ilsen moved the appoint^~ent of ~1.rs. Ralph F. I3erdie, 2208 Folwell,
Commission to the Planning Commission for .3 term expiring January lst, 1962.
Seconded by Coppini and unanimously carried.

Nilsen moved the a.npointment of George ~' Plant, 1961 t.2oore,
to the ~'lanning Commission for a term expiring January 1,
1962. Seconded by Vlarkentien and unanimously carried.
Licenses The Deputy Clerk was instructed to contact Roseville,
i'~~aplewood and Lauderdale asking their requif~emer_ts on
Licenses and Bonds.
Sewer Stubs It was resolved that the Villav~e .Attorney take the necessary

University Attorney Graham reported he had checked the law regarding

Parks and A+.,torney Graham reported he had been con±acted by hnr. Loux of
Playgrounds the ti'iest Falcon Heights Playground Association regarding the
construction of ~ swimming pool, with closed membership, on
t~~eir playground; and that he had advised ?fir. Loux the Tillage
could not contribute to such an installation nor could they
permit it to be constructed on public property.
Bowling, all- Attorney Graham advised that Attorney Jerome Frank, who ren-
