A. CALL TO ORDER: 7:02PM B. ROLL CALL: Larrabee _X__ Cooley-Kistler _X__ LaDouceur _X__ Ebbesen _X__ Dumbacher ___ Locke _X__ Campbell _X__ COUNCIL LIAISON: Gustafson __X_ STAFF PRESENT: Walter _X__ C. PRESENTATION: D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: 1. August 23, 2021 Motion to approve the minutes from August 23, 2021 by Laure Campbell; Approved, 5-0. E. DISCUSSION: 1. Human Rights Day Event- December 6 - Julie contacted Mapping Prejudice and Just Deeds to request a presentation at the event; could do a short presentation from both organizations - Dena would like members to send event name ideas to Ashleigh to distribute - Andrea would research and reach out to organization that would be giving out yard signs - Julie would design the poster for the event and review with the CEC prior to the next meeting - Dena suggested reaching out to Council Member Yakasah Wehyee to lead the opening/closing remarks - Andrea would reach out to school group to invite to next meeting - Not likely that NineNorth recordings are viewed. We would not request the event to be produced/broadcast this year. 2. Clothing Drive for International Institute - Winter clothing drive could also have some collection during the HRD event. - Andrea could ask the school if there are any families that will be joining the schools, could collect and help distribute for them. - Could ask International Institute for list of needed items 3. Winter Festival ideas - Snow sculpture contest would be one idea to offer this year - Could be in addition to holiday lights map - Dena would like Commission members to send ideas for names for Winter Carnival events - Winter Carnival is late January into February F. INFORMATION/ANNOUNCEMENTS: - The City Council would likely be approving a resolution to allow for remote meetings, starting in October. - Commission members would have the option to attend meetings remotely via Zoom; a link would be provided at bottom of agendas, as was the case during the height of COVID-19 in 2020. - One member of the commission would need to attend at City Hall, along with the staff liaison.
