MINUTES
A. CALL TO ORDER: Vice Chair Seth called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
B. ROLL CALL:
Members present: Olson, Mathwig, McCleery, Vannucci, Bucholtz and Seth
Also present: Council Liaison Wehyee, Staff Liaison Moretto
Members absent:
C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: April 15, 2021
Moved, seconded to approve revised minutes for April 15, 2021; motion
carried.
D. AGENDA
1. Quick Updates
i. Discussing looking at placing an EV charging station at Amber
Union. Amber Union will set money aside for the installation of
conduit for the wiring of the station.
ii. Partners in Energy
1. Look to complete an application. January 2022.
2. Update on tools and resources for measuring environmental goals
i. Staff demonstrated and explained performance measuring tools for
environmental goals relating to the Comprehensive Plan and the
City’s Sustainability Plan. The commission looked at the GreenStep
worksheet, the Wedge tool, and a version of the B3, not available at
the time of the meeting.
3. Dark Skies
i. The commission discussed and review the website of Dark Skies
Initiative as well as other resources. Commission members are
interested in looking at ways to incorporate these methods into city
standards.
4. Other
i. The commission discussed the possibilities of having a commission
presence at the Ice Cream Social. Some are willing to table the
event. We will need a few volunteers. The commission would also
like to have a survey.
ii. Outreach to children and families are a priority. Would like to have
a documentary or other kind of film to play at city hall (outside)
and then have a discussion after. Concept is in progress.
