Meeting v~ras called to order at 7:00 P. `~., the following Council Members
being present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Paul Coppini,
Trustee; VJ. A. r,4ortenson, Clerk. Also present were Frank N. Graham, Village
Attorney; PJm. E. Olsen, Treasurer; Ethel E, ti'Jhite, Deputy Clerk Arid Deputy
Treasurer. Absent: Willis 'rJarkentien, Trustee.
License: All requirements having been met, it was moved by Coppini,
seconded by Shavor and unanimously voted to issue ~rASTER GAS
INSTALLERS LICEPISE #152 to R. Rreatherston, dba Dick ~"Jeatherston's
Associated Mechanical Services, Inc., 668 Jenks Avenue, St. Paul, Minn.
Sanitary Bert Slama's report of i~4ay 7th on the Sanitary Sewer System of the
Sewer Village of Pal con Heights was read and discussed. It was moved by
Nilsen, seconded by Shavor and unanimously voted that the Engineers
be instructed to make adjustments to bring-the manholes to correct
levels.
Fences tJ. L. Hermes was present to request information on fences. He
was given a copy of the specifications as set out in the new
ordinance. There was also a discussion regarding the alley,
drainage, etc., and Mr. Hermes was advised the Village Engineer
would call on him to discuss the matter and make recommendations.
Street There was a discussion regarding additional 23,000 lumen street
Lights lights. Mayor Nilsen will contact ~'r. `Tanelli of Northern States.
Street There was a discussion regarding street repairs and Mayor Nilsen
Repairs reported that Engineer Lemberg said the contractors were set to
start right after May 15th when the load restrictions go off.
Fire There was a discussion regarding the adoption of the abbreviated
Ordinance Fire Prevention Code as recommended by the National Board of Fire
Underwriters. It was decided to give the matter some publicity
between now and the next regular council meeting, "{ay 25th, and
to nut ±he matter on the agenda for 8 P. T~d. at that meeting. This
will give anyone interested an opportunity to attend the meeting
and present his views.
Care of The proposed contrac£ with the County of Ramsey for the care of
Prisoners prisoners was discussed. On motion by Nilsen, seconded by Coppini,
it was unanimously voted. that the Clerk be authorized to sign
the contract submitted.
