".'oder was advised to contact Plant, and that the Council would take action at the next regular meeting if a report had been received from the Planning Commission. Mr. Shannon °rras advised that the zoning ordinance specifies th:~t no advertising signs will be permitted in "R" Districts. Sewer: '_:~Irs. F. Sorensen, 1783 Holton,appeared before the Council to advise that when the sewer installer (Rosetown Sanitation) dug from their boulevard to the street, he found that the bell on one piece of file was broken and three tiles were found to have back-pitch so it could not drain. California, but wants to take another look at it before making any recommendations. Dog The Deputy Clcrk ti•~ras instructed to order 150 dog licenses for Licenses: the year 1962-63. A'-torney's R Attorney Galvin reported on the meeting of the ?~.?et ropolitan eport: Sewage Commission which he and Bonestroo attended. Due to the large number of people in attendance, they decided . to make their statement by letter, copy of which eras sent to Village Officials. He also advised that they had filed copies of the Oaths of Office and 3onds for the Justice of Peace, Clerk and Treasurer. He had received an overture from the people carrying the bonds for Herbst Construction Company; is getting the figures together and thinks he may be able to dispose of that soon. F~ngineering: Improvement of Crawford from Arona to Simpson, and far enough up Simpson, to correct drainage. Lemberg recommended installa- tion of curb and gutter. They plan t,o excavate R" below pro- posed grade line surface, crush exisiing._matfor~use:'.as:.new base, place Class 5 gravel base below surface material which isa 6!' as recommended. On ton of that, a 2" bituminous surface, a~~ ~~mix, reshape boulevards to conform vrith lawns, place 2tt t~ of black dirt and resod with cultured sod. They fi~-ured a -~ curb and gutter. This should give a good 5-7 ton street. r, ~~~ Approximate cost ,~7l~88.25 total. Of tha+, total cost, ti~l, 760.00 represents curb and gutter which should be assessed, leaving a balance of `502.8.25 to be paid by the TJillage. The cost of curb and gu+.ter to be assessed is estimated at .2.75 a foot. Simpson is breaking up for about 200'. It will take about 1/3 of our maintenance funds, but it is a step in the right direction. 1711 RESOLUTION TO L,iPROVE CF,AWFORD AVENUE FROP~i ARONA AVENUE TO SIP:'Iz'SON AVEtJUE, by Surfacing the Street and Construction of Curbs and Gu+.,ters Vdhereas, pursuant to .resolution of the Council adopted November 9, 1961, a report has been prepared by 3onestroo, Rosene and Associates with reference to the improvement of Crawford ~'~venue from Arona to Simpson, with grading on Simpson as far North as necessary and this report was received by the Council on January 2~, 1962, NOV~f Tj'LREFORE, 3E IT R.~SOLVED r3Y THE VILTAGE COUNCIL OF FALCON HEIc?uTS, AviIT?^~EStimA; 1. The Council will consider the improvement of such street in accordance with the report and the assessment of abutting property for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement pursuant to i~~Zinn. Stats,, Secs. 2,29.011-!29.111 at an estimated *.otal cost of the improvement of x'7!.,.88.25. 2. A public He-ring s-all be held on such proposed improvement on the 15th day of L'ebruary 1962 at 8 oclock P. J~:i. in the council chambers of the Village Hall and the Clerk shall give published notice and mailed notice of such hearing on improvement as required by law. Fencing, Idaho- Lemberg reported: Total cost of fencing the entire area. and Snell, p~ G~ changing from !~' to 6' around the ponding area would be ~5~160.00 1712 including 1 - 12' gate and 2 - 6' gates. Steel fencing Heavy Gage. They will take the 1~' fence in but haven't se± any price on same. This fence could be permanent because the area is graded -~± the top at present and the fencing could remain even though the balance of the area were lowered. He will contact 'TcCubrey again. Traffic, Nilsen moved. that the Council proceed with a study of Busin:a s the traffic problem at the three business quadrants or. District: Snelling and Larpenteur. Seconded by Stone and carried. Extension Stone reported on the conference between :1cGee and Turnlund Fire of Roseville, Shavor, Nilsen and himself of Falcon Heinhts. Service:. Area to be served eras outlined as Hamline to 36 and 36 to the Lauderdale limits. No pricer were cuoted. RosevillE~ will send report of fires for the last tiro years. Nilsen r:~nd Ut.one will have a ^~eeting with Chief Uberg of St. -~aul, ~ri~ay, January ?6th. Tank Truck: Stone reported that he and Nilsen had contacted i~?1r. F<:rber vrho offered the ti illage a tank truck for Civil Defense Use for X1.00 and other consideration. ':!r. Farber is agreeable to the Vi::.lage putting the truck to any use necessary. Ise and Nilsen consider it ~rvorth while and the boys vri11 pick it up as soon as possible. Safety Council Stone also reported he ha.d a~;tended the Safety Council Paleeting last Friday and gave a brief su-~mary of the activities.
