Meeting was called to order at 7 P. M., the following Members of the Council
being presents Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; W. A. Mortenson, Clerk; Charles
P. Stone, Trustee; George J. Shavor, Trustee. Also present were M. J.
Galvin, Village Attorney; B. Lemberg, Village Engineer; Wm. E. Olsen,
Treasurer; and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. Absent,
Willis Warkentien, Trustee.
On motion by Stone, seconded by Shavor, the Minutes of June 27th were
approved as submitted.
On motion by Nilsen, seconded by Shavor, the Minutes of July 12th were
approved as submitted.
On motion by Stone, seconded by Mortenson, the Minutes of July 18th were
approved as submitted.
Car Washs Mortenson moved the continuance of the contract with
State Fair Car Wash at X65.00 per annum for as many washes
for the police car as desired, the year to run from April
1st, 1962 to April 1, 1963.
Sign, F. H. Stone moved that the application fora permit for the sign
State Bank: at Falcon Heights State Bank be referred to the Planning
Commission inasmuch as it seems to involve a variance
from Ordinance 64, 16.4.(3). Seconded by Shavor and
carried.
Building Mr. R. K. Magnuson, 1810 No. Holton, Mi. 6-0696, was in to
Inspectors discuss the appointment as Building Inspector. His exper-
ience qualifies him for the work, and it was decided that
a representative of Bonestroo, Rosene & Associates, Village
Engineers, could inspect his work in the Vi11aFe to avoid
conflict of interest. Magnuson took copies of the building

made.
Curb and WHEREAS a Resolution the Village Council adopted the 18th of
Gutter, Iowa July fixed a date for a Council hearing on the improvement
Ave. of Iona Avenue between the West line of the Snelling-Idaho
Ponding-Recreation Area and the East line of Hamline Avenue
by construction of curbs and gutters, and
WHEREd~S publication is now being made and a public hearing
will be held August 1st at which all persons who wish to
be heard will be heard at such meeting
NOPt THEREFORE, BE IT P_ESOLVED that Bonestroo, Rosene &
Associates are,::autho~zed to prepare plans and specifications
for said proposed improvement.
Adopted by the Council the 25th day of July, 1962, on motion
by Stone, seconded by Nilsen and carried.

Art Lindig Art Lindig and Attorney Tilsen of Robbins, Davis &
Propertys Lyons were present. Attorney Tilsen presented a rough
draft of what Lindig proposed to do with his property.
There was a discussion concerning width of street.
They were advised that the matter would have to go to
the Planning Commission. Tilsen will prepare additional
overlays, showing various proposals, for presentation
to the Planning Commission. Shavor moved that the
Lindig Plat be referred to the Planning Commission and
that the Clerk arrange a 3oint meeting between the
Planning Commission, the Council, Mr. Lindig and his
representatives. Seconded by Stone and carried.
Attorney's Attorney Galvin reported on his progress on the Sub-
Reports Division Ordinance. Also that he had a letter from
Robert Leibel, Mutual Service Casualty Co., advising
that they had denied the claim of Mr. Bruncke for water
damage, and the Hansen claim for sewer damage because
there were no accidents, rather occurrences coupled
with an absence of negligence ox~ liability on the part
of the Village. Galvin will so inform Bruncke and Hansen.
They are having Ordinance Violation Tags prepared, which,
at the suggestion of Mayor Nilsen, will be discussed with
the Fire and Police Departments when procedures will be
determined.
