REGULAR tdEETING OCTOBER 10, 1962.
Meeting was called to order at 7 P. M., the following ?embers of the Council
being present: .Harold C. Nilsen, R?ayor; Willis ~uarkentien, Trustee; W. A.
'ulortenson, Clerk; George Shavor, Trustee. Also present were M. J. Galvin,
Village Attorney; Brad Lemberg, Village Engineer; Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer;
and Ethel E. White, beputy Clerk and T~eputy Treasurer. Absent: Charles P.
Stone, Trustee.
Minutes of the Special Meeting of September 21st were approved as submitted
on motion by Shavor, seconded by riortenson.
Pdinutes of the Regular Tdeeting of September 26th were approved on motion by
Shavor, seconded by W?rkentien.
Sidewalk: P~~~ortenson moved that the application for building permit for
concrete sidewalk fronting the Clarence Schiller residence
at 11167 W. Hoyt be approved. Seconded by Nilsen and carried.
Variance: Shavor moved that the request of Geo. O. Zaier, 1892 No. Arona,
Juhls Iioselawn Addition No. 3, Pdo. 5' of lot 12 and all of lot
13, block 1t, location 15, for a Variance to permit them to
make their attached single car garage into a double car garage
be referred to the Planning Commission. Seconded by Warkentien
and carried.
Guests: Gary Ringus and Ken "dueller, 9th grade students at Fairview
Junior High School where they are studying Minnesota and
National Government, were present to witness the Council Meeting.
Fuel Oil: Clerk Pdortenson read the fuel oil bids as followss

Shavor moved that the Village continue it's contract with
Thorne Oil Co. Seconded by Mortenson and carried.
Election The appointment of the following Election Judges for the November

Trees: The ?eputy Clerk was instructed to call W. J. Morin, 887 Aurora,
St. Paul, Ca. 5-2It07 and ask if it would be possible for him to
attend the special meeting Friday, October 12th, 7:30 to 9:30

Transports- Letter from Representative Jones r egarding meeting on future

Idaho-Snell, Engineer Lemberg advised he had met with Mr. Leeberg of Leeberg
Playgrounds and Peterson who quoted a total price of X530.00 for the con-
crete shelter, with a concrete deck and benches which can also
be used as tool boxes. With plain benches instead of the
"tool-box" type, the price could be reduced about X50.00.
The following men from the Idaho-Snelling area expressed their
interest in the grogram, their preference for a different type
of shelter, and their help in organizing a Community Program
of financing,. planning and designs for a suitable building and
help in the construction of same: George Kilgore, Carl Johnson,
Henry Ernst, Herb Richards Don ~dadole, James C. a~~cGuire and
Wayne Sorenson. They wild. draw up their plans and recommendations
and present them to the Council at the meeting of October 2l~th.
Attorney's Trees: Attorney Galvin reported that the Village can do anything

the snrad of disease or insects. The work could be paid for out
of general funds.
Sewer: He has contacted the installer of the sewer at 1372 ~~v.
Iowa.
Traffic: Ordinance 66 has now been published.
Assessment: Notice of the Hearing on the Crawford Avenue Assess-
ment has been published. Notices were mailed to the affected
owners. A 1~/5 vote will be necessary.
Taxi-Cab Ord.: He is drafting one and will submit copy by mail.
He will contact E. Carroll regarding moving of garage.
