HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 26-15 Authorizing Out-of-State Travel Request for Senior Maintenance Worker to Attend Elgin Street Sweeper Mechanic SchoolCITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS COUNCIL RESOLUTION February 25,2026 No.26-15 A RESOLUTTON AUTHORIZING OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL REQUEST FOR SENIOR MAINTENANCE WORKER DAVE SIMONS TO ATTEND ETGIN PELICAN STREET SWEEPER MECHANIC SCHOOL IN ELGIN,ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the City's current sweeper is a 2010 Elgin Crosswind that has far exceeded its projected service life of 7 to10 years; WHEREAS, City Council approved a purchase agreement to replace our current street sweeper with a 2017 ElgnPelican NP Street Sweeper; WHEREAS, Elgin offers free on-site mechanic school in Elgin,Illinois, where operating instructions and troubleshooting repairs are taugh! WHEREAS, Public Works'Senior Maintenance Worker, Dave Simons, is requesting reimbursement for lodging totaling approximately $1,100 for hotel fees associated with attending Elgin Pelican Street Sweeper Mechanic School in Elgin, Illinois, from June 9 through Jtrne 11., 2026. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota: 1. That the out-of-state lodging expense of Senior Maintenance Worker Dave Simons is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights.
