RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT TO MUNICODE FOR ONLINE CODE
HOSTING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights maintains a Code of Ordinances that is currently
available primarily in a static format that can be difficult for both staff and residents to update,
search, and access; and
WHEREAS, in summer 2025, the City Council approved a contract with CivicPlus to redesign
the City's website to create a more engaging and user-friendly plafform; and
WHEREAS, Municode Codification, a service provided by CivicPlus, offers an online code
hosting plafform that would complement the new website by providing a fully searchable and
publicly accessible version of the City's Code; and
WHEREAS, the proposed services include republication of the City's existing Code of
Ordinances, ongoing supplementation services, and hosting the Code on a secure, cloud-based
platform; and
WHEREAS, the online code hosting system will improve public access and transparency, allow for
faster and more accurate updates following ordinance adoptiory provide internal cross-referencing
between code sections, and support compliance with WCAG 2Jl,I-.evel AA accessibility standards.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights,
Minnesota:'1. The City Council hereby awards the contract for online code hosting services to Municode
2. The Mayor and City Administuator are authorized to execute the agreement for the project
on behalf of the City.
