SPECIAL ;MEETING - TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 19+9

The meeting was called to order by President Matteson at 7:30 p.m.
Resume of meeting of Matteson gave a brief resume of the special meeting called
June 4 Saturday, June 4, inasmuch as no minutes were taken of this
meeting. Briefly the matters discussed were as follows:
1. A letter dated Jur_G 2 had been received from Middlebrook ad-
vising tha±. he w~~a agreeable to a second renewal of 15 years
at the option of the vill.a~;e for the 1CasC of the property
on Larpcrteur Avenue for the village hall and fire station.
This provision would give a total. 1CasC of 45 years. The
rental under this lease for the first 30 ,years would be
fixed at '~15 p-r year. Bcginnin~; wits the 30th year tY•e
rental charge would be fixed at a sum equal to 2f of the ap-
praised value at that time of the land as determined by the
~t. Paul Realstate Board.
2. The Village of Roseville had appraised the Town Hall at
?G6,500. The Village of Lauderdale apparently had concurred
in this valuation. It was the opinion of the council members
thst a fair valuation of t'_^e '"own Hall property should be
~7i500. thze to the difference in opinion, it was assumed
that a board of arbitration would be established composed of
1 representative from Roseville, one from Lauderdale, one from
Fa?.con Heights, and a fourth person to be sC1CCted by thGBC 3•
3. The council members were agreeable to hiring Buetow as archi-
tect for the village hall and fire station building anal that
formal action would be taken on June 7.

Appointment of Buetow Rysgaard moved that the cc•::ncil appoint. Max and Gerald Bu-tow
as archi+,GCts for the village hell and fire station, subject to
the signing of a contract. Motion seconded by Shavor and carried
Electrical Bids Council opened the bids received for electrical work, ss follows:

Baseball Diamond Glenn Harjun? appeared b~-for- the council advising- that a j

of hi.s prop-rt~r for a baseball diamond, thcrcr.+a.~. fee to

tion seconded by ~hevor and carried. Matteson was ask-d to
check on the liability insurance for the play~rounl and al-
so to ch-ck on a liability insurance policy for the entire
village.
Public Cafety and Mattson asked 3havor to be rest~onaible for sel°cting a
Police Protection committee of 2 or 3 for public safety and polio protec-

and make a report on June 14.

Volunteer firemen's Upon Harry Anderson's recommendation, ~ha.vor moved that the
salary volunteer firemen be paid ~2.C0 an hour °or fire time and
"1.00 per drill, with one drill a week. Motion was seconded
by ~ysgaard and carried.

Fire protection for There was some general discussion regarding possible fire pro-
