The meeting xas called to order by President Matteson at 7:~5 p.m. Inasmuch as this xas
/a special meeting, the minutes of .the previous meeting xere not read.
Petition by Steffnitz Mr. Steffnitz presented his petition for re-zoning the folloxing
property:
Plat A -.from farm residence to business -the south 150 feet of
the north 359-5/10 feet of the NPY4 of the Ngf~ of the N~P~ of Sec-
tion 22, Township 29, Range 23, except the rest 506-5/10 feet.
Plat B -from farm residence to business - the east 67 feet of
the zest l~26-5/j0 feet of the south 150 feet of the north 359/10
feet of the NW4 of the NIP4 of the NIPS of Section 2a~ Trnmship 29,
Range 23.
Plat C -from farm residence to residence C - that part of the

Lindig moved the adoption of the folloxing resolution: R~50hVED
that pursuant to Section 12 (e) of Ordinance #2, July 5, 19li.9 be
and it hereby is fixed as the date for the hearing on the changes
in zoning restrictions covered by the petition dated June 11~, ].~9
filed by Mr. Steffnitz and that the Clerk be and he hereby is in-
stru~ted to post the notices as required by the said section.
Motion seconded by Shavor and carried.
Frank Graham, Attorney, xas asked to prepare the notices for the
special hearing. ,~ -
Clifford H• Thompson I(r. Clifford H. Thompson of 1507 Hest California inquired of the
Complaint Council if anything xas being done or if anything xas being
planned to relieve the problem caused by lack of proper drainage
of storm xater in the alley betxeen Larpenteur and California dust
east of Arona. Mr. Krampton of the County Surveyors office xas
present and his opinion xas asked. He suggested that the alley
be surveyed and the grade .established so as to determine xhat
steps xould be necessary to alleviate the situation. A motion
xa~made by Lindig that Street Commissioner Seaborn be authorized
to request the County Surveyor+s office to make a survey of the
alley 3.n the area betxeen~California and Larpenteur from Pascal
to Arona and to make a survey of California Avenue at the inter-
section of Arona and to give his recommendations for handling
the problem, and at the same time to~,ask the County Surveyor+s
office to give its recommendation regarding the storm sewer along
the zest side of Arona as proposed by Steffnitz. The motion xas
seconded by Shavor and carried.
Mr. lfilson Mr. 7ri.lson xas present and ansxered questions put to him by the
Council regarding the property at Snelling and Hoyt xhich he

.,~'~, wishes to sell to the Village of Falcon Heights for use as a
'v` playground. This property includes Lots 1 through 5 and half
of 6 in Block 9, Lots 12, 1, and 2 in Block 10, and Lota 12 and
13 in Block 8. The Council felt that in order to use this prop-
erty for a playground, it would be necessary to have the pro-
posed alley between Hoyt and Iowa and the proposed alley be-
tween Iowa and Idaho vacated. Mr. Graham advised that va-
cating proceedings would possibly take about 2 months. Some
discussion ensued regarding the necessity of having a place
to turn around at the end of Iowa (for storm plow and road
equipment) and the best ways of handling it. Mr. Wilson
stated he would be agreeable to working with the Village on
this problem. Mr. Krampton was asked to made a study of
this situation and to have his recommendations regarding it
,~ at the meeting on June 27.
_~Fire Equipment Ap- Harry Anderson reported that tie fire equipment had been ap-
praisal praised at ~22,3~2.6$. The amount of equipment being taken
over by Falcon Heights is X9,672.55• Our share of the ap-
praised figure if $9,160.50, leaving a difference of X512.05
which we would awe to the Village of Roseville.
Additional Fire Harry Anderson reported that he would 13.ke to put in an order
Hose Requested for some additional hose. He also advised that h~ thought the
order should be placed for the second fire rig. It was agreed
that both matters should be acted on on June 27.
Complaints regarding Dachtera reported he had received several complaints that the
Golf Course and Root root beer stand and the miniature golf course located at
Beer Stand Snelling acrd Larpenteur were causing a disturbance until
all hours at night. At the present time the Council does
not have an ordinance regulating matters of this kind.
Matteson moved that Constable Dachtera be instructed t o
request the golf course to close at 11:00 p.m. on all
nights but Saturday, and on Saturday night to close at
12:00 p.m., and that the people operating the root beer
stand be requested to shut off the jute box at 9:00 p. m.
Motion seconded by Lindig and carried.
Bills: Seaborn presented the following bills:
~ 38.33 for street .lighting for the month of May
l~03.22 for road work from April 26 to day 25
Shavor moved the bills be paid. Motion seconded by Lindig and
carried.
Water for Fire Matteson reported he had talked with Leonard Seamer who had
Station apparently reversed his previous thinking that water ~e ex-
..tended to the new village hall and fire station. In his talk
with Matteson, Seamer stated he had recommended to the City
Council that the water not be extended. Seamer thought the
Council was to act on the matter the following dad. It was
decided that Matteson and Shavor should attend the City Council
meeting.
Building Inspector Matteson moved that the building inspector fees be set at
Fees 75~ of the fees collected, with the provision that on any
commercial building costing in excess of X10,000 or on any
residences housing four families or more the building in-
spector be requested to secure technical assistance in the
inspection of the buildings, .such assistance to be subject
to the approval of the Council. The motion was seconded
by Lindig and carried.

Building Inspector Lindig moved that Dwight Reichow be appointed Building
Appointed Inspector effective immediately. The motion was seconded
by Shavor and carried. -
Bill Matteson moved that the bill for X105 presented by Harry
Anderson for car expense and out-of-pocket expense for serv-
ices as chairman of the Fire Protection Committee from A}~ril 11
to May 31 be paid. Motion seconded by Shavor and-carried.
