HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 26-61 Authorizing A Contract Amendment with WSB for Additional Professional Services Related to the Community Park ImprovementsCITY OF'' F'ALCON HEIGHTS COUNCIL RESOLUTION June22,2026 No.26-61 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENT #1 WITH WSB FOR ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES RELATED TO COMMUNITY PARK IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS' on August23,2023, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 23-56, accepting the proposal from WSB & Associates, Inc. (WSB) for professional services related to the Community Park Building and Site Improvement Project and authorizingthe City Administrator to execute an agreement not to exceed $329,817; and WHEREAS, the original scope of work has since evolved due to changes in the project design direction, including the shift from a community building to a kitchen and shelter concept following pre-bid estimates that exceeded the City's established project budget, as well as additional Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry permitting requirements related to the splash pad installation; and WHEREAS, WSB has indicated that the remaining hours in the original contract are insufficient to complete necessary project elements, including permitting support, bidding of playground perimeter fencing, and project close-out tasks, which are beyond existing staff capacity; and WHEREAS, on June 15, 2026, WSB submitted a formal Contract Amendment #l request identifying the need for additional services including permitting activities, preparation and administration of a fencing quote package, contractor communications, bid review and recommendation, and installation oversight, for a not-to-exceed amendment amount of $13,680; and WHEREAS, approval of this amendment increases the total contract amount for WSB's services to 5342,497. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota: 1. Contract Amendment #l with WSB for additional professional services in the amount of $13,680 is approved; and 2. The City Administrator is authorized to execute Contract Amendment #l consistent with the terms outlined in WSB's amendment request dated June 15,2026; and 3.
