Graham, Attorney Meeting called to order at 7:45 PM and minutes of regular meeting, May 23, 1951, and of informal meeting, May 28, 1951, approved as read. Peterson, tyro F-250 chairs, $17.50 Rekstad moved that the bills be paid, seeon ded by Shavor and motion carried. Screen The matter oP providing needed screen doors for the Yillage Hall doors and Fire Station was considered. Henry moved that the matter be handled by Rekstad wit h the understanding that the Yillage would pay only fo r t he materials for any screen doors that had to be sgecially made. Shavor seconded and motion carried by unanimous vote. University Mr. Earl Spangler, 2117 A Hoyt Avenue hest, of the Grove East Grove traffic Association, inquired regarding the placing of traffic signs at signs. the intersection of Hoyt Avenue and B Street, and was informed these signs will be installed on the Yillage side. Hollywood D. J. Cochrane, 1589 Hollywood Court, together with 18 other Court property owners in the Hollywood Court area, appeared before the maintenanoe Counoil in connection with maintenance matters in their district. Letter of April 10 From Attorney Graham in this regard was read, and a lengthy discussion of snow removal and of other maintenanoe problems in the Hollywood Court area Followed, Mr. A.D. Crompton, of the County Surveyor's office, being present and taking part in the disoussion. It was agreed that the Council would look over the area with the Street C©mmissioner at an early date. Mr. Cochrane stated he would ask someone from Hollywood Court to attend our next meeting. ~- 2 4~~ Spri~l.~ling Letter of June 12, 1951, from Mr. J.S. Garske, was read, requesting System permit permissi®n for a 4" water service for his property at 1570 North Snelling Drive, with the view of installing a sprinkling system capable of servicing the ad3acent lot, also owned by Mr. Garske. Mr. Garske and a representative of the Frank Eha Heating & Plumbing Company being present, 'they presenir~further details on the proposed sprinkling system. Shavor then moved that the building inspeotor be authorized to issue the permit desired. Seconded by Stewart and mention carried unanimously. Root Beer Application of Nir. Otto R. Walter was again considered and sanitary stand license matters in connection with operating the stand were discussed. Expense Because of inability of the Fire Chief and one volunteer Fireman to oheek attend the State Firemen's Convention, at Cloquet, Minnesota, a refund proposed refund on check No. 939 issued to cover their expenses, was offered. The proposal asked that X5.50 be allowed for expense in- curred in reserving a cabin, as follows: Expense eheok, $75.52 Less reservation, 5.50 P ropes ed refund , 70.02 Acceptance of refund moved iry Henry, seconded by Shavor, and carried unanimously. Mayor's The matter of the Mayor attending the 37th Annual Convention of expenses, the League of Minnesota Municipalities, at Rochester, Minnesota, Rochester was considered. Shavor moved that the expenses of the Mayor be allowed for attending the Convention on June 15, 1951. Seconded by Lindig and carried by a unanimous vote. Dog Bites - Letter of June 7, 1951, from Attorney Graham, relative to Faloon Dry Clean- Heights Dry Cleaners, and with respect to dog bites, was read and ing discussed. Henry moved approval of the application, seconded by Lindig and so ordered. Fire Dept. Letters Prom Fire Chief Swanson were read, one dated June 4, 1951, matters. relative to living quarters and compensation of the Chief, and one of June 11, 1951, regarding Asst. Chief Morse. Henry moved that the letters be tabled until the next council meeting. Lindig seconded and motion carried.
