A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT EXTENDING THE COMPUTER AIDED
DISPATCH AND MOBILE DATA AGREEMENT WITH RAMSEY COUNTY
WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights is a party to the 2013 Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and
Mobile Data Agreement with Ramsey County, which provides essential public safety technology services
including computer-aided dispatching, mobile data access, AVL, and related system functions used by the
Ramsey County Emergency Communications Center; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County recently identified that the CAD and Mobile Data Agreement is scheduled
to expire on Decembet 31,2026, and that a comprehensive modemization of the agreement is necessary
to reflect current practices, technology needs, and future flexibility; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County has begun a collaborative process with member agencies to update and
modernize the overall CAD/Mobile Data governance and operational framework, a process which will
require additional time to complete; and
WHEREAS, the County has requested that all member jurisdictions approve a simple amendment
extending the number of available one-year renewal periods from ten to twelve, thereby extending the
potential agreement term by an additional two years; and
WHEREAS, the amendment makes no other changes to the terms, conditions, cost-sharing structure, or
responsibilities of the parties, and is necessary to ensure uninterrupted CAD and mobile data services
while the modernization effort is underway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota
that the City of Falcon Heights hereby approves the Amendment to the Computer Aided Dispatch and
Mobile Data Agreement with Ramsey County, extending the agreement by two additional one-year
renewal periods; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Administrator are authorized to execute the
amendment on behalf of the City and to take any administrative actions necessary to implement this
resolution.
