SPECIAL MEETING, THURSDAY, March 6, 1952

The Mayor declared the meeting open at ?:30 P.M. and called on
Lorris Williams, Chairman, Planning Commission, to explain the latest revision of
the proposed street plan for the Larpenteur and Snelling area.. The meeting was
then opened to genes°al discussion, those taking part including the following:.

Street Plan, Each member of the businessmen's committee was called on for
Larpenteur gnmmtffi-bas. These related to the width of Larpenteur in the proposed
Saalling plan east and west of Snelling Avenue, installing of curb, parking
on the street side of the curb, traffic turns at Arone, pedestrian
cross walk, synchronizing proposed street signal at Arona and
Larpenteur with Snelling Avenue signal, possibility of changing
parking arrangement to Pit in with conditions as they develop.
In answer to a question raised by Don Julep, Mr. Crag-pton stated
that the. parking area should be as the same height as the curb,
and that it might be necessary to put in a plank rail to keep
people from backing out over the curb. Crampton also said the
County would stake out and take care of the black topping between
ourbing on the street. Installing of curbing, he said, was up to
the property owners, and that surfacing by the County would go in
first. Mr. Julep then asked if he could borrow a set of the
proposed plans to show the property owners involved to determine
Plans to if all were in accord with the proposed 60-Foot width for Larpenteur.
Julep Mr. Julep was given one of the revised plans with the understanding
that he would report back wit hip two or three days on what was
decid ed.

Recess No one else wishing to b e heard, the meeting was then recessed
at 8:50 P.M.
Reconvene Meeting reconvened at 9:30 P.M.
Dry well As to dry wells on Village property; Rekstad stated that the
on Village Contractor had started work on one of the wells and that he had
property gone down 16 feet and was still in sand. After disoussion,
it was proposed that the contractor limit the work to one well,
digging it to a depth satisfactory to the building inspector.
Storm water, Seaborn reported on storm water and culvert trouble at Ruggles
Ru~~les & and Simpson. After disoussion, Henry moved that Commissioner
Simpson Seaborn be authorized to have the County install a catch basin
at Ruggles and Simpson if necessary to control storm water.
Lindig seconded and motion carri ed unanimously.
Alley behind Lindig reported that Attorney John Bouthilet, representing Douglas
Rees property Reea, had called on him March 6, 1952, as to proposal for surfacing
the alley behind the Rees property and installing a catch basin,
if the Village agrees to bear part of the cost.
Adjournment: On motion, the meeting adjourned at 10:40 P.M.
