Meeting called to order at ?:40 P.M. and minutes of regular meeting,
March 26, 1952, and of postponed meeting, April 9, 1952, were heard and appro ved
as read.
Village In accordance with the informal action taken by the council on
police March 8, 1952, following adjournment of their special meeting of that
appts. date, Lindig moved that the appointments of Earl Smith and James Waller
as speoial police officers for policing roads fora period to be de-
termined by the council, be and hereby are approved, and that they be
paid X1.50 an hour, plus 7~ per mile for use of their ears. Seconded
by Stewart and motion carried unanimously.

On. motion by Shavor, seconded by Lindig, the bills as listed
above were ordered paid.
Street Bill from Ramsey County for $680.65, covering street work performed

Village police After discussion, Henry moved that compensation of Village police

Scarlet Health Officer Lindig reported planing of a scarlet fever placard
fever on. the residence of Harry Pantsar, 1603 Hollyvrood Court, as of

Burning Lindig also reported receiving complainbout trash burning bn
trash the alley while her washing was on the line. It was agreed to
publish a news item, calling attention to provisions in this
connection in Ordinance No. 13.
Weatherston Letter of April 2 f rom Attorney Graham relating to cleaning of
ditch ditch by LQr. ~Geatherston and culvert he desires, was read
and discussed.
Dale-Hoyt bus After discussion, Shavor moved that the clerk be directed to write
the Twin City Lines, requesting that they re-route permanently the
Dale-Hoyt bus to run on Hoyt, Snelling, Larpenteur and Hamline
instead of the route used at presen t. Seconded by Stewart and
mot ion car ri ed unanimously.
Village In connection with signs to be placed at the entering boundaries
signs of the Village, Commissioner Seaborn was asked to secure a price
on seven signs installed and on one extra sign panel.
Senator Letter from Senator Elmer L. Andersen acknowledging receipt of
Andersen re resolution on personal property tax on household goods passed

Curbing, The clerk read Mr. Stepnits' letter of April 4,.1952, requesting
Larpenteur that the curbing in connection with the improvement of Larpenteur
between Avenue between Snelling Avenue and Arona Avenue be constructed by
Snelling & the village and the cost assessed against the abutting property.
Arona After some discussion, the following resolution was moved by Henry,
seconded by Shavor, and unanimously adopted:

between Snelling Avenue and Arona Avenue by putting eurtring
in on both sides cf the street as recommended b~xethe engineer
for the village, and t o assess the abutting property for the
cost of the improvement, pursuant to Secs. 412.401 to 412.481
of the ~Hinnesota Statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CUUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF FALCON HEIGHTS, B+SIINNESOTA, that a public hearing be
held by the Council on this proposed improvement, in the Council
chambers in the Village Hall, at 1644 West Larpenteur Avenue, in
said village, on Tuesday, the 13th day of May, 1952, at 8:00
o'clock P.M., and that the Clerk prepare and publish two-weeks'
notice of such hearing as requi red by law.
Amendment The proposed amendment to the Fire department ordinance (Ordinance
Fire Dept. No. 1) relating to reporting fir es in public buildings, was dis-
ordinanee cussed. Attorney Graham was asked to prepare an amendment in
suitable £o rm for consider at ion by the council.
Alleys (7) Mr. Seaborn reported to the council that property owners had
requests requested that seven different alleys in the village be improved
to improve by grading and surfacing, and the costs assessed against the
abutting property as provided by statute.
The requests were discussed by the council, and on motion of
Lindig, seconded by Shavor, and unanimously carried, the following
resolution was adopted:
Resolution - WHEREAS, it is proposed to improvedthe alley between
Idaho and California avenues, running from the west line
Idaho-Calif, of Albert avenue to the east line of Pascal avenue, by
alley. grading and surfacing, as recommended by the engineer for
the village, and to assess the abutting property for the
cost of the improvement, pursuant to Secs. 412.401 to 412.481
of the Minnesota Statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TiiE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA; that a public hearing
be held by the council on this proposed improvement in the
council chambers in the Village Hall at 1644 West Larpenteur
Avenue, in said village, on Tuesday, the 13th day of May, 1952,
at 8:30 o'clock P.B6., and that the Clerk-prepare and publish
two-weeks' notice of such hearing as required by law

carried, the following resolution was adopted:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA, that a public hearing
be held by the council on this proposed improvement in the
counoil chambers in the Village Hall at 1644 West Larpenteur
avenue, in said village, on Tuesday, the 13th day of Flay, 1952,
at~ 8:30 o'clock P.M., and that the Clerk prepare and publish
two-weeks' notice of such hearing as required by law.
On motion of Lindig, seconded by Shavor, and unanimously carried,
the following resolution was adopted:

and surfacing, as recommended by the engineer for the

the following resolution was adopted:

Larpenteur- Larpenteur and Crawford avenues running f rou- the west line
Crawford alley of Pascal avenue t o the east line of Arona avenue by grading
and surfacing, as recommended by the engineer for the village,
and to assess the abutting property for the coat of the improve-
ment, pursuant to Secs. 412.401 to 412.481 of the Minnesota
Statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE

Natural The matter of checking with the Northern States Power Company

in the Village, was referred to Trustee Shavor.
Holy Child- Request for the Pillage Hall for recreational program of
hood Teenagers the Holy Childhood Teenagers, for Saturday evening, April 19th,
was presented. On motion by Stewart, seconded by Lindig, it
was voted unanimously to approve the request.
Fire Equipment As to fire equipment items requested by the Fire Chief in his
letter of March 11, 1952, to the Fire Department Committee
which recommended purchase. The clerk was directed to
inform the Fire Department committee chairman as to some of
the items not being provided for in the 1952 budget.
